A 12mile hike starting at Easby Abbey following the river Swale with this view of Richmond Castle then a steep climb high up eventually reaching Willances Leap. ein Blick über die Schwelle by rafaela.linn ...der Auffahrt zum Schloss Richmond in Braunschweig. Selten nahm ich mir bisher die Zeit, meinen Wohnort mit der Kamera zu erkunden. Nun, wo das Leben sich so langsam wieder ganz vorsichtig in Richtung Normalität zu bewegen scheint, bin ich aus dem Wald aufgetaucht und habe einen Stadtspaziergang unternommen. Dabei bin ich einigen Schönheiten, ein paar skurrilen Bauten und der älteren sowie jüngeren Geschichte der ehrwürdigen niedersächsischen Metropole begegnet. STUDY TRIP TO RICHMOND CASTLE 

Richmond Castle is a very old castle in Sri Lanka. i was very fascinate about detailing of the columns. i was curved in wood.Same patterns were repeated in each columns.

Richmond Castle

Richmond Castle, located near Kalutara, was built between 1900 and 1910 by  Don Arthur de Silva; the leader of Kalutara at that time.

One of the many cool things this guy had in his castle. sound proof rooms. The wall is built in two parts using wood panels and covering it with a special coating somewhat similar to plaster of paris thus leaving a space between the two wood panelings. So no cement was used in between the panels Therefore the air vacuum is held in the middle of the wall which makes the rooms sound proof. you can see vertical criss section of the walls, this shows the wood panels and how plaster used to cover it
