Ship Goes Down || Marcus & Ricky

The last time he saw his brother it was him arguing about how he could leave his son unattended and upset that he had paid off Sofia to stay away instead of trying to be a father. Marcus didn’t know what it was but it pissed him off. And now he waited for his brother to tell him the news about their grandfather. The passing hadn’t come as a shock, but there were a lot of issues that needed to be resolved for the family to be on the same page. He sat inside a not so busy cafe, going through his agenda as he waited for Ricky to show up, which to Marcus that could be any second or hours even.

It was both a blessing and a curse that Eliza's first public event since returning to town was a masquerade. She liked being able to fly under the radar - her mask providing just enough cover that she's not instantly recognizable. On the other hand, everyone else was also wearing a mask. And after 11 years without setting foot in Kismet Harbor, Eliza was struggling to connect names to vaguely familiar half-covered faces. At least until a particular sound caught her attention.

"Hey! I know that laugh!" Eliza began weaving through the crowd, making her way toward the source of the sound. She'd spent enough time cracking jokes with Ricky in school that she'd recognize his laugh anywhere. When she finally reached him, she grinned. "Well, well, well. Ricky Marrero. Don't you look dashing?"
