My poor little brain is melting today, so I’m here to theorize on the new Zelda trailer and art!

She got a haircut! I have a feeling it may represent her moving on from the past events with the Calamity and her accepting and growing into her role as the Gerudo Chief. She also wields the same style scimitar as Urbosa! The details in the handle are the same alongside the details in the blade!

The outfit Riju is wearing is also extremely reminiscent of Urbosa’s from Age Of Calamity, which was before she got the Champion’s Garb from Princess Zelda! It appears that the shoulder and chest plate armor are similar in style, but differ slightly in color and design.
(Image shown below is of Urbosa in her Gerudo attire before Princess Zelda asks her to be the Gerudo Champion in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.)
I’m curious to see if this is a direct connection to Urbosa herself, or if Riju’s weapons and attire are simply a status symbol that she’s the Gerudo Chief. Keep in mind Urbosa wielded both the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker shield. Riju carries no shield as far as the trailer and art shows!
I will be covering Prince Sidon’s redesign next! I’m so excited for this game and to spill all the new detail’s I’ve scrounged up <3
