Would Klaus deny paternity of Bonnie's baby knowing his sperm isn't supposed to work as a vampire? Would Bonnie be offended that he's insinuating she sleeps around?
Klaus knows Bonnie isn't a whore, nor is she a liar. He wouldn't doubt her for a second. However, Bonnie would be a little in denial. Anyway, here's a very chaotic drabble that feels like a fever dream.
Nothing, and Bonnie meant nothing, had prepared her for sitting under blinding studio lights with a squirming one‑month‑old baby in her arms while Klaus Mikaelson bounced his knee beside her like he had just won the lottery.
Evangeline gurgled happily, completely unaware she was about to become the most controversial paternity test in supernatural daytime television history.
“This is ridiculous,” Bonnie hissed. “You kidnapped me.”
Klaus smiled. “I prefer ‘transported dramatically.’”
Maury Povich adjusted his cards, eyes glassy, posture unnaturally stiff because Klaus Mikaelson did nothing without compulsion. The audience sat frozen in suspiciously synchronized anticipation.
Maury cleared his throat. “Bonnie Bennett, Klaus Mikaelson. In the case of one‑month‑old Evangeline… Klaus,” he paused for effect. “You are the father.”
Klaus shot to his feet. “I KNEW IT.”
Bonnie blinked. “That can’t be—”
“Now Bonnie,” Maury said gently.
“You made me do this!” Klaus accused, pointing at her like she had personally dragged him onto daytime TV.
“Shut up, idiot!”
“I’m going to be in my daughter’s life!”
Bonnie clutched Evangeline closer. “I can’t believe this. I knew there weren’t any other options but—”
Maury tilted his head. “You knew you hadn’t slept with anyone else but still denied Klaus was the father?”
Bonnie snapped. “He’s not supposed to be able to have kids!”
Klaus grinned, leaning in far too close. “But I can, love. Now we can have many more.”
Bonnie glared at him, unimpressed.
Maury smiled warmly. “Bonnie, we don’t get many men who fight to be in their child’s life.”
“He broke my heart!” she burst out.
“Well, Klaus, what did you do?” Maury asked.
“Nothing.”
“He left me behind to go to New Orleans!”
“I was preparing our home—”
“You were preparing an army!”
“To fight for our family!”
“To fight for power!”
Maury nodded sagely. “Klaus seems like a real family man, Bonnie.”
“He puts his siblings in coffins!”
Maury frowned. “That is rather strange.”
Klaus waved it off. “What she means is therapy. I put my siblings in therapy.”
The audience erupted. “He loves her and cares for his family, ohhhhh!”
“Oh, shut up!” Bonnie snapped.
Klaus softened, voice low. “I never left you. Not once.”
Bonnie groaned. “Please tell me this episode will never air.”
“Of course not,” Klaus murmured. “That’s why everyone here is compelled.”
Before she could argue, he kissed her. Deep, familiar, infuriatingly perfect. Evangeline squealed like she approved.
Bonnie pulled back, breathless and furious. “I guess you’re an alright dad. But don’t expect another baby anytime soon.”
Klaus smirked, eyes dark with promise. “I bet I can make you change your mind.”
Bonnie groaned again.
The compelled audience clapped forever.
