All Divine Dragons have the ability to revive people back from the dead, but it’s something that takes a very long time to master and drains their own life force (giving the revived person minor draconic powers and physical traits as a side effect), and it’s something you have to be very careful with because, ethics of life and death aside, the process is very easy to mess up. Grima, having the blood of a Divine Dragon, can do the same without the limitations, but they never even learned they could do it until they watched Naga resurrect the First Exalt before striking them down, which is also the first time they met a Divine Dragon. So after they possessed Robin to kill Validar but realized they couldn’t give the tactician back their body they try to revive Chrom to undo Validar’s damage at least, but between being the first time they ever attempted such a thing and Chrom’s body having some remaining thanatophages his immune system had yet to fight off before he died, the whole thing goes horribly, horribly wrong. Because Risen Chrom is effectively stuck in a limbo between life and death and sharing his body with a parasite seeking to reproduce itself and turn more people into Risen as a wild instinct, and is in constant pain. So Grima, horrified, kills Chrom once more, and Robin doesn’t even have the heart to object because as much as they want him back... not like this.

Been trying to learn how to use Clip Studio Paint, so I decided to doodle Chrom-- well that turned into a full blown drawing that took several hours and now I’m dead lmfaoooo.

Pretty happy overall with how it turned out, even if I lost steam halfway through. Maybe one day I’ll finish it properly lmfao.

Anyway, enjoy some Risen Exalt Chrom bc I was mad there is so little art of Chrom in this outfit, much less Risen Chrom. Gotta do everything myself lmfao.
