Full recordings of my two favorite radio stations in the Fallout universe, Galaxy News Radio (Fallout 3) and Black Mountain Radio (Fallout: New Vegas)
Both tapes include (almost) all radio songs from each game's respective soundtrack as well as all broadcaster announcements from their respective hosts, Three Dog and Best Friend Tabitha/"Rhonda."
I think there's a lotta flaws in Fallout 3's writing, which appears almost juvenile when directly compared to New Vegas's, but 3 was the first Fallout game I ever played, so GNR will always hold a special place in my heart, not only as my introduction to the universe, but also to the particular genre of music Fallout is usually associated with (listening to the Ink Spots makes me feel like a kid again, it's hilarious). Despite the shortcomings, I think the game really nailed a unique atmosphere, and Three Dog as a radio host helped make that particularly memorable. Black Mountain Radio station might be my favorite bit of story telling in the entire Fallout universe lmao. I've talked about it before, but the odyssey of events leading Tabitha from whoever she was pre-forced-evolution, through a commanding officer position in the Master's Army, the downfall of said army, coupled with the severed connection between her and her most trusted companion, Rhonda (a connection/loss likely compounded by stealthboy-induced schizophrenia), culminating in her single-handedly co-hosting a radio station full of broadcasts that make *perfect sense* with all this information in mind, but come off as utterly insane to the average listener, is just. Chef's kiss. That's a hell of a run-on sentence, but god I love this radio station. Less for outcasts, more for weirdos.
