TabiText: Here's a joke: what do you get if you cross a hyena and a werewolf? This would be so much funnier if you were a hyena.

Para|| Claringtina: Ice Cream Sundays
Tagging: @imrobert-clarington
Time: Sunday evening, 2 September 2018
Setting: West 43rd St Apt Complex, 4th Floor, Apt 3
Summary: Tina and Robbie both need a break, so they break out the desserts!
Part 1
Tina just left the mess that was her attempt at dessert in the sink-- she’d get to it later. It was her night off (thank you Labor Day!), and she had wanted to celebrate; to do something fun. Baking a cake had seemed like an easy enough idea...until it became a weird lava sinkhole of doom that left her in a sour mood. Maybe she should have just gone out drinking...
But then Robbie had invited her over, which sounded like a super-fun idea. He’d been really nice to her, and apparently he was having “one of those weeks” too, so it would be good to just hang out with a real person and eat ice cream.
Not wanting to come over empty-handed (what would her mother think?), Tina grabbed a bottle of Bailey’s and then slipped out the door. It didn’t look like her cats even seemed to notice, but Tina supposed that would be a good thing. Cats were independent, after all-- that’s why she loved them so much. She locked up and headed to the elevator, pushing the down button and stepping out on the fourth floor. Feeling the weight of her bottle in her hand and the thought of getting some “me time” with a new friend, Tina’s face brightened considerably as she knocked on Robbie’s door.

Robbie: I know that Mom’s going a bit crazy, as it’s not reflecting the best on her department, but otherwise no.
Robbie: I don’t like it. Who knows if the guy was alone. I mean, he may have acted alone, but who’s to say that he was alone in his thinking. It’s going to be a lot of work, trying to pin down any other potential targets. I’m more worried about those who live in Muggle areas. But I’m just rambling at this point.
TabiText: Isn't this an Invisibility Task Force issue? What are the Muggle Watchers even doing if they didn't notice the gobby bloke running around?
TabiText: If he wasn't, Obliviating isn't going to fix it-- his buddies are going to notice that he suddenly doesn't think magic exists. I hope they just adjusted his memory to believe in something else, like tooth fairies or Santa or something. Send him on an excursion to the Poles.
TabiText: It's not a stupid concern. I mean, how did he even find out about the platform? Is it just a matter of staring at the right time? Because the Leaky Cauldron is in plain sight if you know where to look. Should we worry about the Prime Minister? Great, now //I'm// rambling.
para || Claringbolt: A Head Trip
Tagging: @gryffindor-professor
Time: Friday Evening, 12 October 2020
Setting: The Hogs Head, Hogsmeade
Summary: Two of Hogwarts’ professors head to the pub for a desperately-needed break.
Tabitha was glad Robbie had contacted her about a drink, honestly. Between the school going mad, Cooper’s confession, and the Auror twats, she just needed a break. Even the open air of the pitch hadn’t done it-- Tabitha needed a drink.
She’d been first to the gate (unsurprising, as she had a fraction of his students), her face breaking into a grin upon seeing him.
“Glad to see you didn’t get cold feet on me,” she greeted, closing the gap between them in a few short strides to pull him into a hug as she explained, “With the way the week’s been, I figured you could use it.” So could she, honestly.
They turned toward the path, and she instantly felt the tension begin to release a little. “I swear, when we get to the pub, I’m going to order three Firewhiskeys and a pint and then just float for the rest of the night,” she declared. “How about you?”

[PM] The Aurors are denying a link. That’s not to say that I believe the same, but the Aurors are in fact denying the link. And Tab, the portal can be mended, sure, but there’s still a slow moving process on the Muggle side of Kings Cross that has to be dealt with first, as far as clearing the debris, rebuilding, and then reconnecting the portal on that side as well. Sure, it should be done before the holiday, but it’s still a concern that parents and students both can have. They have that right. Instead of criticizing their concern, we could remind them of the alternative ways of getting them safely home. They may not be as pleasant, but no one is getting left behind.
Nowhere in the article was it speculating that Hogwarts was being targeted. And of course my sister is demanding that we do more, she’s the daughter and sister of two Aurors who personally don’t think that enough is being done. It’s kind of just in her blood at this point.
You misunderstand me, Robbie. I’m not suggesting that the incident isn’t tragic, and that there’s not a lot to think about, but the article is suggesting a level of panic that’s permeated throughout the families and is unnecessary at this time. And considering we’ve had twenty years of peace, I don’t think it’s a lot to ask that people don’t jump to Eleven the moment something bad happens that overlaps both us and the muggles. After all, they haven’t had that peace-- they seem to be getting worse. And as for the Muggle situation-- surely it’s not that hard to jerryrig a magical train station with a few chimneys so the kids come out elsewhere? Or hell, let’s just set up a temporary Floo network on this side. With so many cloaking and illusion charms available, it should be a breeze.
You’d think as the daughter and sister of members of the government, she’d take stock of the Castle rules before deciding they’re useless, is all I’m saying.

My sister just sent me this; apparently a month and a half is the time to go get Halloween costumes. Oh well; look out New York, there’s a raptor on the loose!
