Rodney Rogers, Wake Forest Hall of Famer and 2000 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, has died at 54.

Rogers passed Friday from “natural causes related to the spinal cord injury he suffered in 2008,” Wake Forest announced.

Nicknamed the “Durham Bull,” Rogers played 12 NBA seasons with seven teams after being drafted ninth overall in 1993. He averaged 10.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 866 career games, highlighted by his Sixth Man season with Phoenix.

A standout at Wake Forest, Rogers was ACC freshman of the year in 1991 and ACC player of the year in 1993 before his jersey was retired in 1996. He remained a beloved figure in his community, founding the Rodney Rogers Foundation and receiving Wake Forest’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2022.

hmm, my crystal ball’s telling me this: rodney will probably pick a fight with someone and spend most of the trip brooding in a corner with his guitar. aubrey and levi will most likely either make it official or just be all over each other because that’s all they ever do. carter and val will sit in a corner and talk about plays and judge everyone who’s on their eighth beer. caleb’s gonna hit on liv and she’s gonna shrug it off and he’s gonna get angry and punch rodney. tessa’s gonna make everything about her and cry like a little bitch. and hopefully nobody’s drinking yeiungling again. yawn, you guys are getting predictable. spice it the fuck up, my dudes.

seems like levi doesn't wanna tie himself down to aubrey. maybe our resident party girl is better suited with someone who actually cares about her; rodney perhaps?

well, are any of us really shocked? the boy’s the star athlete on the prescott high football team and he’s best friends with caleb. jocks like that don’t settle down for anyone. aubrey’s probably better off with anyone BUT levi. rodney seems like a pretty good choice- there’s something about those broody musicians that really get a girl going, am i right?
