Now keep in mind this is a difficult and extremely nuanced topic. Plenty of folk have parallel thoughts or come to similar conclusions about a character-- especially when there's plenty of subtext to go off of, or a certain concept/headcanon becomes popular in the community.
Plagiarism is blatantly ripping off your work while passing it off as their own. This can be a challenge to properly prove and honestly my advice to you if you think someone's stealing your work-- block them. Just avoid interaction. A straight up copy & paste is easiest to handle-- still recommend using the block button though.
Sometimes writers will come up with similar ideas, and I've witnessed far too much drama thrown around over someone assuming another was stealing their work, when they weren't.
A the same time I've also seen situations where someone claims their work was stolen, and it in fact was.
You can always privately reach out to others with your evidence-- this is the most mature approach. While it might feel vindicating to out them in a callout post-- that's just gonna teach the thief to be smarter about how they steal shit. It won't hold them accountable, and others may not have the reaction you anticipated to your post.
On this blog we are anti-callout but pro-consequence. So reaching out to others with your concerns & evidence, while discouraging any retaliation. We block and move on.
As always, the askbox is open! For clarification on answered queries, or for further questions on RP meta and whatnot.

I have a bit of a weird question. It has been at least 6 years since I've been in a group RP. Do people in group RPs still do para convos or is it mostly dash/chat convos with gifs?
I recently joined a group RP and I have not seen a single para convo on the dash in the 3+ days I've been in the group, nor is there a tag for paras. Is this normal now?
I'm taking some suggestions for gif packs, my preferences is underused and people that aren't used as often as our popular gif packs and such are already around.
I have opened my asks.
I'm looking at doing a few new packs with finishing off some packs I have put off for so long.
CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS:
- Leven Rambin in Fire Country.
- Travis Van Winkle in The Last Ship Season 5.
- Bren Foster in The Last Ship Season 5.
- Marissa Neitling in The Last Ship Season 5.
- Sebastian Stan in Gossip Girl Season 3 - If I can get the content.
My directory is in the source link, use this to see what I already have. I can't take all suggestions and something I might not be able to get. If you have a place of where I can get the content you went send the link with the ask and I'll do my best!
I usually make a side blog for my media reblogs. And by that I mean, when i want to reblog music or a video or a picture that relates to my muse, I make a side blog for all my muses so that I can keep my activity clean.
Do you have any other ideas for avoiding people reblogging things from you that aren't threads?
I'm gonna hold your hand when I say this. You can't.
Tumblr is a social platform, not just one for roleplaying. So we gotta keep in mind that we share this website with everyone. Usually folks will leave your blog alone but randoms might find a thread, post, headcanon-- and like or reblog it.
When this occurs you have a couple options. Block them without saying anything, message them and ask them not to do that, or just ignore it entirely. Personally I opt for the latter. I've been on this website since 2011 and let me tell you get gets exhausting blocking every personal blog that follows you or interacts with your stuff.
Thankfully roleplayers are hella creative. So one way to keep track of things is using a thread tracker. There's plenty of tumblr-focused ones online that you can find with a google. You can also go into your settings and turn off the capacity for your blog to show up in searches. This will limit your visibility to other blogs, but will also prevent personals from finding you as easy as they would.
At the end of the day-- it's one of those things you just gotta accept and deal with. You can either be malicious toward it, or indifferent. I've learned to be indifferent. If someone does get a bit too annoying with the likes/reblogging, I talk to 'em. But I also consider it quite the compliment when randos like my work.
As always, the askbox is open! For clarification on answered queries, or for further questions on RP meta and whatnot.
I was wondering if it is okay/normal if we can project our problems that are potentially triggering into a character that we're roleplaying?
My character has a subplot of the topic I'd like to expand upon, but it's not deeply talked about in canon. Is it okay for me to bend canon for my own satisfaction?
Also, is it even a good idea at all? I'm a little nervous of people policing me, shaming me for the problem. Should I just keep it to myself to avoid potential bullying?
Gosh this is one heck of a question. But I shall answer to the best of my ability!
Roleplay itself is often used as an aide in therapy to help folks work through trauma, simulate situations, etc. But plenty of writers also use their work to explore what they've dealt with. There's an important thing to keep in mind here though-- that the folks you're writing with also have to be on board for the subject matter.
Consent is imperative in roleplaying. Touching on darker themes is something most writers dabble in-- whether to explore the subjects form a literary and analytical standpoint, to help them cope with traumas they've lived through, and for good ol fashioned spicy reasons.
THE CANON IS A SUGGESTION. From the moment you decide to write a character, that iteration of the character is unique to you. So yeah-- you can adjust the story, create AUs, or outright flip the canon on its head. There are no rules when it comes to how you can adjust/explore a story.
As long as you are engaging in the material respectfully-- and clarifying that you are not glorifying it-- you'll be fine! Just be sure to tag things accordingly and keep checking in with your writing partner. Dealing with heavy subjects can be a strain on anyone involved in the thread-- and understand the thread/plot can end the instant your partner says "no."
Because "no" is a complete sentence.
