What took you so long, puppy?
The hallway’s quiet.
Soft gold lights running down the ceiling. Every door closed. The whole floor asleep.
And right there against the wall, Zandro’s already waiting.
Gold shorts #1. Dog tag resting against his chest. That slow, unreadable look locked onto you the second you turn the corner.
Then he finally speaks.
“What took you so long, puppy?”
Not loud.
Just low, calm, and teasing enough to make it obvious he’s been standing there longer than he’ll admit.
Like he already knew you’d come this way. Like the whole hallway became his space the second he leaned into that wall.
Now the only thing moving is the light reflecting off his skin and the tiny smirk forming when he sees you trying to explain yourself.
