They are imperfect, and I love them. First handknit socks in over a decade! One is a bit too short with a too-loose guage, but nothing a pair of boots can't handle. ✨🖤✨ Pattern: modified #rosecityrollersocks by @orangeknits with @toiltrouble yarn + mystery stash.

I'll admit that I'm having a hard time not wearing this single, unblocked sock around the house. 😂 Onward to #2! This will be my third pair of handknit socks. The first two were ugly but useful things I made while living in the freezing Sierra Madre in Mexico - more than a decade ago. I wore them to absolute threads. These are much more visually appealing than my first attempts - an adaptation of the free @orangeknits pattern #rosecityrollersocks, knit with some beautiful hand dyed yarn from my friend Ana of @toiltrouble and some mystery stash leftovers. And guess what? I can knit socks while reading aloud to my kids. #winwin. This may end up being The Year of Socks!
