@rosemaryremembrance "You could have killed me, why didn't you?" (I'm throwing Ophelia at you because I love your Ed)
Blinking at her in confusing for a moment, Ed tries to remove any emotional expression from his face. But wouldn’t that make him more like the man she apparently thinks he is? He shouldn’t be surprised, most people see him that why and perhaps that’s better than seeing him as weak ❝I do not like killing, Ophelia. I only...hurt people for self-reservation and...people that have hurt me.❞ he pauses, letting a breath out through his nostrils that one could interpret as frustration. ❝Are you planning to hurt me?❞

Central Park was lovely in the autumn. The leaves turning color and then falling from the trees lent it a melancholic air, while the colder air forced lovers to cling to each other. Sitting on this bench, Hamlet couldn’t help but marvel at the beauty of it all and be forever thankful that his father bought a penthouse only a stone’s throw away.
“There was an article in Page Six about my mother,” he said to Ophelia blushing a little. “Apparently, she drank a famous movie director under a table and had an off color limerick contest with him, if you can believe that.”

“Are your e-mails safe?” Hamlet asked Ophelia. “Do you delete them immediately after you receive them?”

As Hamlet wandered through Elsinore’s corridors, he felt as if they were becoming smaller and smaller. He remembered a story from his youth about a magician who had become trapped in a prison of air. He had taught the spell to a sorceress with whom he had fallen in love and she had placed him there forever.
There was no sorceress here only the ghost and his love for his father. If only he had been Claudius, he thought. I would have killed him without a second thought because I wouldn’t have loved him.
And there was that word again. The magician had fallen in love and been imprisoned in air. His father had loved a woman who didn’t care for him and had paid for it with his life. It drove people to do stupid, wild things. It made fools of them.
As he walked, Hamlet heard footsteps behind him. He stopped on a staircase and turned around. As soon as he saw Ophelia, the word echoed in his mind again. Love. Love. Love.

Hamlet felt at home at The Strand. Surrounded by shelves of books that were higher than himself, he found himself wandering around the stacks and pulling down title after title. He was looking through a book on Renaissance Italy when he turned smiled.
“Out of all the bookstores in all of Manhattan, you had to walk into this one,” he teased.
