Itty bitty little… Earwig? Snakefly? That hitchhiked his way into my car. It doesn’t show up super well in these photos, but his elytra and to a lesser extent his head/thorax had a really cool metallic gold iridescence.

I scrolled this blog for a while and didn't see it, so I'm gonna request Nicrophorus Americanus, also known as the American Burying Beetle.

They're critically endangered, and also one of few beetle species that actually exibit parental behavior. I love them very much. :]
