“i knew it!” rowan probably shouldn’t sound as excited as she does. after all, she’s stood opposite a creature that probably has the abilities to kill her. after their encounter in the forest a few nights ago she’d been completing hours and hours of research, all in order to corner them to confront them with her findings. and she was right. “is it just you or are there others? like other creatures, i’m sure you’re not the only one of your kind. that would be sad.”

"oh." glancing down, it was quite obvious this wasn't something from rowan's usual wardrobe. she couldn't help but feel totally pathetic that today of all days is one where she's chosen to reach for something that belongs to her ex. grey must think she's some sort of crazy, obsessed ex-girlfriend or something. "i can give it back to you," she offered up casually, lifting her shoulders in a shrug like it didn't matter. it shouldn't. they were over. "uh... maybe not right now, though? i have on this like baby-tee underneath and it's not really weather appropriate. i could wash it and get it back to you?"

"a joke?" never let it be said that rowan overreacts. she's dealt with enough hypochondriacs in her life to know that's not who she wants to be and so when she finds herself freaking out it's typically for a very good reason. this feels like the best reason, actually. "probably nothing?" just echoing them wasn't pushing the conversation any but she was in complete and utter disbelief. was greyson really not worried about this? "you've got to be kidding me right? this isn't some weird coincidence and it's not something anyone would joke about. it's serious."

"this is fucked, nel." rowan has always been a bit inclined to panic in any given stressful situations and that has her worried. turning over every inch of her memory from that evening just to see if there's something that she missed. when she doesn't come up with anything it just sends her spiralling all the more, shoving into the house past her friend so that they aren't having this conversation out in the open. "what if someone saw us?! but why wait? why now?!"
