Chapter 1: Prologue
July 2013 : Somewhere in India
John returned at den from office. It was a hectic day. He was still negotiating the ways to deal with additional pressure from the mercurial rise to the top executive level at the MNC.
Not long before, he was struggling to prove his mantle among n numbers of super educated and talented pool of engineers that the country had in offer. Now that a sudden break has given him tremendous opportunity to make name in the industry and the well paid position , he thanked lord and grabbed it with both hands. Shifting base from Bangalore to a small town somewhere in eastern India.
Along came the struggles. After all money does not come easily. John was thrown directly to manage a group of hostile client’s sitting all across the globe. To make thing worse, he was asked to lead a team of 50 engineers , who did not have enough skill level to deal or negotiate with the clients of support John with technical feeds. The set up was new , so was the technology. It was all sea!
John had no other option but to work like monkey, sacrifice sleeps to manage clients in USA, Spain, UK and Germany at the mid night. Life was catching up and taking severe toll on mental health.
Only good thing was that he was given high position and hefty paycheck to compensate.
Returning home at 9 PM after a day full of work, John expected a warm welcome from family. However he was greeted with boring stories. His newly wed wife was not turning out to be as compassionate as he expected. Her focus was solely into spending and spending, other priorities and needs was quickly diminishing. John thought...was this due to the plenty that he has now? While he silently fulfilled all demands from home, his personal and mental well being was quickly disappearing and he was quickly jumping into being a stressed out psycho. Dealing with two front pressure was increasingly becoming difficult for him.
John started spending considerable amount of time on the internet to let go some mental pressure . World of internet was new to India. Though John had enough exposure to it , courtesy to his education in Bangalore and some casual online flings, he never explored it before, like what he was doing now.
John was enrolling into many new instant messenger platforms and making friends with new people, specially girls from all over world. In a short time, he understood, he was feeling relaxed as people outside India were much frank, bold and worth speaking to. He was learning fast..having harmless casual flings.
John, was 28 year old. 5 feet 6 inches, slim with fair amount of personality and was neither bad looking. However it was not possible for him to use personal data or real images to chat because , the position he worked demanded a solid leadership role model and no one would take it lightly if boss was doing flings online. Also, even though it was a unhappy marriage, he could not run away from responsibilities.
So..character of John Decaprio surfaced. John used the profile of a random person and announced his arrival at web world. Little did he know what was waiting inside !
