Zelena & Snow

Zelena was out of her mind in rage and jealousy which translated to this insane hatred and jealousy of the life Regina got. But I always thought after the reveal of Cora almost marrying King Leopard it would've been cool if she hatred Snow the same way she hatred Regina. If she was jealous of Snow for getting the life as daughter of the King raised she always wanted. Regina was raised rich, got all of Cora's attention (as if that's a good thing) and married Leopard, but Snow got the better end of the deal. I think Zelena would want a combo of both women's lives - Regina's place as daughter to Cora, student to Rumpel with the added befit of being his lover AND Snow's place as princess, daughter of "wonderful*" Leopard, beloved and praised endless by her father, beloved by the kindom and heir to vast kingdom without having to marry a man she didn't love three times her age. As I said before Zelena had her sights set on Rumpel already so I'm so she had plans to woe him with offer of getting his son back. 

I don't know how Zelena knows of her own history. She knows that Cora gave her away. Regina and Snow only found out because they summed Cora's ghost and she told Snow while trying to kill her (I don't even know what ghost Cora was trying to do for sure). So maybe Zelena doesn't know. I can see her spending a lot of time and power trying to find out why she given away. I can see her tracking down Jonathan to get some kind answer from him. Maybe see if what kind of man he is, if he wants her, or to just get revenge on him. I have to believe Zelena choose Snow's baby for more then just the relationship to Regina. Yes, picking Snow works as way to one up Regina in terms of 'ha look I can defeat your old enemy and your new ally' while at the same time giving her a true love's magic. She had the back up plan in Aurora's baby if Snow's didn't work out. I think Snow's baby must be a little bit of revenge on her part against Eva and life that was stolen from her when Eva reveal Cora's lies. 

*I say wonderful sarcastically because King Leopard is far from wonderful. To the outside world he is seen as wonderful. So Zelena would think he's a great king, father and husband. We all know Zelena has narrow world view as is. She can't see that Cora was terrible mother or Regina's life was terrible or that she suffered. Zelena only see what she wanted to see. She doesn't want to see the cage Regina was in only the nice things in the cage. In a lot of ways she just like the unreasonable Regina haters in the fandom. Very limited world view picking and choosing what she wants to see. Disregarding the turths that don't fit with her ideas.

The other night you were accepting prompts but my computer wasn't working, but I still wanted to see what you thought of this idea. So, what about an AU where Baelfire became the Dark One instead?

"What a poor bargain that would be, to lay down your soul to save your bastard son. So, I ask you, what would you have me do?"

"He's my son."  Rumpelstiltskin felt the dagger weigh down his arm, seeming far heavier than it had even seconds ago.  He'd heard the whispers ever since he'd returned from the war, but coming from the man who had, even for a few hours, been a friend they seemed like a physical blow.  Bae was all he had.  Bae was his, the only reason he had for being.

"Does it surprise you so much, Spindleshanks, to know about the other men that found their way into your wife's bed?  Men like Hordor who had every reason to know you for the coward you are?" Zoso mocked.

"No!"  Rumpelstiltskin thought, at first, that it was his own primal scream that tore the night; the sound seemed to come from within.  But then the dagger was torn from his loose hold and he watched in horror as it was plunged into the Dark One's chest.

He watched the power shift from the dying man to the boy he had been so desperate to save.  The boy who had lost everything.

"Bae, no."  But it was too late. The eyes that looked at him were wide and dark, unfamiliar to him though no less beloved.  His son, always, but forever lost to him even as he stood with blood dripping from the dagger and skin glimmering in the torchlight.

"You're safe now, papa.  Nothing can ever hurt us again."  The smile Baelfire gave him was twisted and dark.  Impish.  Frightening.  "Don't you feel safe?"

"Never again."  Rumpelstiltskin's legs gave out and he fell to the ground.  Never again.
