The thief is shy = Suga, Jin, Jungkook, possibly Tae

Jungkook and Jin have not collaborated much, Suga only with Jimin - impressionable and Jin - VERY sus. Professional bs-ers. They both turned against Tae and were trying to make their case to Namjoon, Nj got confused. They're both directing blame on Tae esp.

Not sure it's Tae. Actually, seeing how Sin turned on him, I'm guessing he is innocent.

Namjoon is not particularly sus to me. He wasn't particularly firm on defending himself, and included himself in the suspects. I am guessing he's organizing his thoughts, not trying to get sympathy

J-Hope, always shady. Might have orchestrated the whole thing. Or was an accessory.

The thief is always holding something in his hands: Jin Jungkook and Suga. The hint might not hold up since they stopped carrying their prop

Tae got 79 for the name compatibility test which could be 진구 so Namseok or Vmin. Could also relate to something else? Like 9th of July? That's Army's birthday! Did he do it with his own name? If so he is innocent?

Also the thing with the running horse and colorful something? Jungkook didn't stop running! And had all of these colorful scarves with him? Lightly sus

So for fun I did the name compatibility thing from this week's ep to see if I could find out some thieves! It took way too long, but I am a scientist and I must find things out

Wild speculation below!

Quick recap on how it works:

You combine two names by alternating syllables, e.g. Namjoon and Jungkook would be 김 전 남 정 준 국 (Kim Jeon Nam Jeong Joon Kook)

Then you count the no of strokes in each syllable:

7 7 8 6 7 6

Then you add each no together until you get two numbers. Anything w two digits, take the second number, so for our example:

7 7 8 6 7 6

4 5 4 3 3 (14 15 14 13 13)

9 9 7 6

8 6 3

4 9%

(or if you put their names the other way around, starting w JK's first syllable it's 90%)

Not sure if all 3 thieves (p sure there are 3) can be found w this or 2/3, since the rules (and the glimpse of the book we got) suggest you can only combine 2 names at a time.

SO, THE KICKER:

According to Tae, the number the two names need to get is 79

BUT!!!

NONE of the pairs, according to my calculations (please correct me if I'm wrong amd you also did them, it's 1am), add up to 79??? So he's either worked out the percentage wrong (since he had to do the other puzzle to get it), or he's lying to the camera!

I combined each pair both ways as mentioned above, e.g.

김 전 남 정 준 국

전 김 정 남 국 준

Because reversing the order usually makes a different score.

The closest pairs to 79 (or at least, those in the 70s) are TAEJOON (72), JIKOOK (77) and JINMIN (77). If the number is actually 77, there's three people who both have 77 (though JINKOOK doesn't score 77 so this theory is probably also a dud, they only get 17 regardless of combo)

Incidentally the most compatible names are SOPE (98), congrats to them

In conclusion, I have no idea but I spent a lot of time adding numbers together not to write this post! Science is about writing your experiments down, after all!!

(my personal suspicions are yoongi, jin and jk but who knows honestly lmao)
