Runaan, the last time I made you one of these, it carried a message of death. But this arrow will carry a message of life.
The first thing Runann does when he gets out of the coin is look for Rayla. Because the last time he saw her they were in a human kingdom, fighting with each other. Arguing about whether they should kill a king and a prince. Viren never mentioned her in the dungeon, and before he is trapped in that coin he only knows she hasn’t killed the prince. He loves her, and the last time he saw her she was in danger.
The second thing he does is look for Ethari. Because he loves him and misses him but Ethari was safe when he last saw him. Safe and well, only in danger of losing Runann, if you can call that only. He looks for his almost-daughter first and his husband second for that reason.
It’s only after he knows that both are safe and well that he asks what the hell is going on.
I always thought this was a hard moment for Runaan. He has only completed half of his mission and lost his fellow assassins in the process. He’s exhausted and weakened, knowing the high possibility he is about to be killed. But from the expression on his face, it’s so much more than that.
This is the exact moment he realizes he will break his promise to Ethari.
apologies to anyone following me who sees me spamming #ruthari from the dragon prince. it’s my weakness. it also causes me to cry. big baby tears.
Your Blg Rocks! Thanx for sharing!
