Hi everyone! Valentine's Day is nearly upon us, and with it being so soon, we wanted to make an announcement regarding Sabezra Day.
We held a Sabezra Day event for Valentine's Day 2024 and 2025, but this year there will be no Valentine's Day Sabezra event. However, that doesn't mean we have no desire to celebrate Sabezra with you anymore. In fact, it means quite the opposite!
We would like to switch things up this year and celebrate Sabezra for a different holiday! Imagine, Thanksgiving, Christmas, St Patrick's Day (we know Sabine loves colours - how about green?). We want to hear your thoughts about what holiday Sabine and Ezra (and us!) should celebrate this year.
Please, reply to this post, send us a message, or reblog with your preferred holiday and we'll take those answers into 2026!
For now, happy soon-to-be Valentine's Day, and happy shipping!

Summary:
Ursa sees the sparks brewing between Sabine and Ezra when she first brings him home to Krownest and decides to test him to see if he's worthy of being her future husband. Sabine is mortified and Ezra is clueless to the whole affair! Or is he?
On autopilot, Sabine turned on the water, grabbed some soap, lathered and rinsed, and ripped off a towel from the dispenser on the wall. It was then, as she dried her hands in a daze, that she caught a glimpse of herself in the bathroom mirror.
Grinning.
With a little snicker and a blush on her cheeks, Sabine turned of the water, tossed the towel in the trash, and leaned against the wall as she pulled a strip of photos from her pocket.

White string lights glowed warmly overhead, just becoming visible in the twilight. Below them, a cool, autumn breeze skittered leaves across the walkway where children, dressed up for the costume contest, chattered excitedly as they hurried by. The enticing scents of cinnamon, sweets, and fried food hung thickly in the air, and the cheers and jeers and call-outs from the game booths roared over the music from the the rides.
"Oh, hey! Look," said Ezra, nudging her with an elbow. "They have the photo booth again. Remember last time?"
"How could I forget?" Sabine said, nudging him back, and they both smiled.
A few years ago, the two of them had crammed into the tiny box together, giggling and making goofy faces at the camera and bursting breathless from behind the curtain as soon as the last flash went off. The resulting strip of photos was a silly souvenir from a fun night, one Sabine had memorialized in a place of honor on her wall ever since.
Since that time, this was the first chance they'd had to return to the fall festival; but once again, they'd enjoyed spending the afternoon there together.
"Want to have another go?" Ezra asked. "My treat." They stopped in front of the empty booth.
Sabine laughed and peeked inside. "Are you sure we'll fit? We barely squeezed in there last time."
Waving off her concern, he said, "Eh. We'll make it work. I'm sure it’ll be fine." Then with a grand, sweeping gesture, he pulled the curtain aside. "After you?"
Sabine bit back half a smile when she gave him a curt nod and stepped inside the photo booth.
🍂🎡🍂🎡
They had not, in fact, fit.
Running a finger along the edge of the first photo square on the strip, Sabine smiled fondly at their bemused expressions and awkward pose.

As soon as Ezra swiped a credit chip, a timer began counting the seconds until their first picture.
But arranging themselves in the space proved more difficult than expected.
"Ok. So what if I sit a little bit forward, and then you - "
"Nope. How 'bout if we kind of angle - "
"Then neither of us is in the frame," Sabine huffed. "We definitely don't have room for all of these arms!"
Ezra laughed. "That's a funny way to put it."
"Well!"
"Ok. Ok. Here," Ezra said, and just as his arm was arcing around her shoulders, they leaned into the middle.

Sabine moved on from the amusing chaos of the first picture to the second one. It reminded her of a very similar shot, her favorite, from the first time they had visited the photo booth. She had long since committed it to memory and recalled that, back then, they'd sat side-by-side, one arm each slung casually around the other's shoulders while they were full-faced beaming into the camera.
Yet, while this new picture reminded her of that one, it was also very, very different.
They looked good together, she and Ezra, side-by-side. They always had. But in this photo, with their grown up faces and comfortable expressions and (she blushed again just thinking about it) more intimate position, an entirely new picture of their relationship was being painted for her.
🍂🎡🍂🎡
Sabine hopped up into barely enough room to stand facing him.
“Ezra! Ok. Umm…this definitely isn’t working,” she said with a smile in her voice.
"Well!" he said anxiously as the timer wound down to the next snap. “I'm open to ideas!”
Sabine chewed on her lip, and Ezra drummed his fingers on the short bench, each one avoiding the obvious solution.
Their eyes met. He shrugged, and so did she.
As one, Ezra reached for her waist as Sabine sat in his lap.
Time expired as she threaded her arms around his neck and leaned her head on his.
They smiled.

While it should have been easy going from there, suddenly, it wasn't.
Sabine lingered on the third picture, thrilling at the memory of the moment and wondering how it had all changed so quickly.
They'd been in close quarters many times over the years, but somehow, it had never been like this.
🍂🎡🍂🎡
Immediately, the timer began anew, counting down the seconds until the next picture.
But neither Ezra nor Sabine moved. Or talked. Barely breathing, they stared at the timer, wrapped up in one another.
"Unless - " said Sabine, and she began turning her face towards Ezra.
So he turned his towards her.
Their noses brushed.
A gasp. A pause. Then the gravity between them pulled.
Sabine watched as Ezra dropped his gaze to her lips and back again, two hearts beating wildly.

A loud flush jolted Sabine out of her thoughts and back into the ladies room. Looking up from the photo strip, she made polite eye contact, a smile and nod, with her fellow restroom patron.
Ignoring the woman's raised eyebrows for her continued presence in the facility, Sabine returned to her photos.
There was one more she wanted to get a good look at.
🍂🎡🍂🎡
Inside the little photo booth, the atmosphere was heady.
The timer was forgotten. Everything else was forgotten.
If it was he who moved first or if it was she, neither one of them could tell. But once Sabine returned a glance at his lips, quick heartbeats ticked by as Ezra and Sabine leaned in to one another.
Sabine’s hand slipped from her grip to rest over his heart, while Ezra reached up to cup her face, fingers threading through her hair.
Their lips met in a sweet kiss. Gentle. Experimental.
Then one kiss became two. Then more. So many more.

Grin firmly re-plastered on her face, Sabine returned the images of their passionate first kisses to her pocket.
Practically skipping, she finally left the restroom, where she found Ezra waiting for her, passing the time by studying his own strip of photos.
"So," Sabine said, hoping she sounded casual but probably failing, "where to next?"
Ezra turned around, and she recognized the same silly grin as her own as he put his pictures away.
"Umm...how about the Ferris Wheel?" he suggested.
She nodded in agreement, briefly wondering, possibly hoping, that maybe Ezra chose the Ferris Wheel because if they got stuck at the top, then they might pick up where they'd left off in the photo booth.
As they made their way through the crowds towards the Ferris Wheel, stealing furtive glances at one another and smiling bashfully, their hands bumped and brushed until finally Ezra reached out, lacing his fingers through hers. When he caught her eye again, Ezra smiled so brilliantly that Sabine could practically feel that he had the same butterflies that she did.
She had a really good feeling about the Ferris Wheel.
I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD PROMPTS--hang on, is there supposed to be a palette for this one. I cannot find the original post.
Anyway, for the In Between Prompt, I decided to not do it literally. What I think these two were doing during those years in between the Rebels finale and the start of Ahsoka is still connecting with one another in any way they can (big or small, subtle or obvious); for Sabine: by living in Ezra's tower in Lothal and looking over his things, and for Ezra: painting those Phoenix logos on the Noti's necklaces.
And I interpret all that as Sabine and Ezra drawing their own star map to one another.
Also, I will join just one prompt for @sabezraweek (bec unfortunately it's all the time I have) and I specifically joined this one prompt because October 23rd is my birthday!! <3
I also made Ezra look more Space Jesus than he already does because I can.

Here's my work for Day 1 of @sabezraweek!
I wanted to do something a little different this year, so I've also created an alternate version of this fic. If you're interested, you can read this story as a film script here.
I had a lot of fun writing in prose and then translating it to a script, so I hope you enjoy!

How cruel it was that for Ezra Bridger to come home, Sabine Wren had to take his place on that remote planet.
Briefly reunited, but swapped places. Not fair. Sabine would say it was unlucky, but the Jedi didn’t believe in luck. It was like the Force was keeping them apart.
Switching positions, passing each other by like ships that go to different destinations. Distant galaxies.
Sabine found herself sleeping in Ezra’s pod, in his beat up mattress. Meanwhile, Ezra stood at the communications tower balcony. The irony.
It seemed like a bad joke. Their place is with each other.
