I can probably picture these two having an interesting dynamic. Where as Ryoma has his experience in battles in conflict leave him that can often guide Emilia that right way, should they establish a form of an apprentice relationship. The dichotomy between one who is practical man to an idealistic woman sounds ripe of interesting interactions! Hey they are both being heroes with their own methods and it sounds dope! I’m game with that!

Thematically, it’s been the moon. Whenever he’s gone through a major turning point or suffered a great loss in his life, he’s seen a moon shaped like a skull grinning down on him. The moon is basically his ultimate fear of being abandoned and of the unknown. It’s tied to a poem that he fears, To The Moon by Shelley: “Art thou pale for weariness / Of climbing heaven and gazing on the earth, / Wandering companionless / Among the stars that have a different birth, - / And ever changing, like a joyless eye / That finds no object worth its constancy?”

Less abstract and more grounded, another constant has been the constant reminder that he’s basically an outcast among both humans and other lycans. Lycans still carry the stigma of having been predators of humans in the past, and are hated by them. Because he also chose to socialize with humans, other lycans think of him as ‘domesticated’ and a traitor. The last point is what caused his personality to turn into the nihilist drunk emo that he is.

The first and most obvious one is when people call him ‘Fido’ or make references that make him sound like a pet. Because anything that reminds him of his situation sets him off into a rage, and he actually takes those words to heart due to a past falling out with another lycan due to him becoming a ‘pet’ for another human.

He also hates people taking advantage of someone too weak to do anything. It’s hypocritical, considering the fact he likes to toy with his targets to break them down completely before he finishes them, but he’s well aware of that fact and doesn’t care about it. Anyway, it’s more specifically a hatred of those who take advantage of people he thinks are innocent. This stems both from an empathy he shares and from recollection of the same happening to him.

A more toned down annoyance has to do with people ordering him to do something. He is an edgy fuck.

“Like this?” Pharah questioned, holding the toy sword in her palms with a tight grip. She positioned it the way she was instructed to, but was unsure if it was correct enough. Surely this must look ridiculous to others, but the Egyptian disregarded that idea in favor of focusing on the lesson at hand. Respectfully, she also added, “Thank you for offering to teach me how to sword-fight. I have extensive military training, but unfortunately this was not included in it.”

Fingers gently went to work tying a bandage around the arm of the man next to him, lying still as his ragged breaths eased. Aside from scars that would emerge as a result of burns, the man would be fine once he woke up. Unfortunately, the sight of wounded was becoming more and more common as the hours and days ticked by. Even now, people injured from recent clashes were appearing and assistance had to be given to ensure their safety. This man was unique in the sense that a girl had actually carried him in, unconscious, and didn’t know his identity in the slightest.

As he finishes tying the white material, he looks up to the girl standing over the two. Hands on her hips, gaze determined. ❝ You don’t know him, but you helped him. That’s kind of you, ❞ another bandage was cut from the roll next to him as he moved onto the man’s leg.. Aladdin had a feeling she wouldn’t leave until she knew he’d be fine. ❝ He will wake up, given time. It was likely smoke inhalation and shock that knocked him out. I’ve made sure that his condition won’t worsen. ❞
