YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYES
IF TEN MILLION FIREFLIES
this. THIS is what we needed from season 6. sadnansi was the most peak episode to ever episode.. i mean... the CLIFFHANGER??????????????/// the COMPLEXITY of marinette's emotions?????????????// ALYA trying to figure it alll out?????????// LADYNOIR CRUMBS <33... + the original gang(mari, adrien, alya, nino) is back together?????????????/// ughhhhhhh beautiful beautiful beautiful. FINALLY there was some legit superhero-ing in a superhero show... like, the fighting sequence got me so nostalgic istg--
....Okay so that was definitely set up as being Marinette's last chance to come clean and she's cooked from this point onward right?
artists in the community can we all agree that marinette talking to the gabriel portrait she was drawing is some of the most accurate artist shit in this series so far or is it just me that still talks to my drawings
QUEEN OF THE DREADZONE AND SADNANSI SPOILERS
So alright, am I the only one that's pissed at Queen of the Dreadzone, not just because they continue to stomp on the ashes of a character that's been dead since season 3's finale, not just because Marinette delivered the same exact speech to Chloé that she delivered at the end of season 5, not just because the stamp scene makes literally no sense because anyone could've bought the same fucking stamp and there are probably millions of them all over france being delivered at the same time so Marinette is just fucking dumb and got it right because of sheer luck,
But because the previous episode chronologically was Sadnansi where at the end Marinette chooses to give Adrien the letter, and goes to his house to give it to him, leaving the episode open, just for the very next episode to be another Chloé slander episode with a cringe unnecessary confrontation moment where nothing changed plot-wise and they don't even show any kind of change in Marinette and Adrien's relationship showing that there wasn't even a timeskip? Was the episode put there in production order just because? This season was going so well aside from the episodes being released out of order, and not counting this episode, it really is still great, the problem is literally just this episode.
It's like the writers suddenly lose every drop of care for the plot, for the characters, for making any sense at all the moment Chloé is the center of an episode because all they care about in the moment is making her look worse than she was planned to be to begin with. Let Chloé die, man, please, I don't even care anymore about the missed redemption arc, I don't even care anymore that Astruc villanized an abuse victim (abused from BOTH her parents, let's not forget that most of her life she spent it with André who had all the time in the world to educate her since she was raised by him since she was like 4), I don't even care anymore that all her enablers were forgiven without batting an eye, I don't even care anymore that she has a half-sister that came out of nowhere when they had plenty of chances to introduce her before season 4, just to Mary Sue around and replace her. Just let her stay in the background and let us forget her, please, I wanna follow the plot, not the childish endeavors of a man-child who is so mad that people preferred Chloé over his fictional daughter that he has to still kick a dog that doesn't even have a skeleton left to kick.
Sorry for the long rant, I really wanted to get this off my mind because it was really bugging me and the friends I watch miraculous with are still at the beginning of season 4 (god bless their poor souls, because they don't know what's about to hit them) since we watch it together and we had a really stressful last school month. I wanna know what other people think.
Sadnansi was such a gut punch of an episode. Just reading the description you'd think it's Marinette and Friends overstepping and being over eager to get two people together... but it really wasn't not really.
The little game worked, for the most part Nora and Brandy (I think that is what he was being called) were able to express their feelings, but Nora clearly has some hangups about it, from being hurt before, and having been in a toxic relationship, and that she was leaving. All of that was more or less resolved at the end. Nora will be going to Shanghai to train for Cook Fu, and Brandy will wait for her/visit her if he can.
I loved learning about Alya's family. We learn, and it seems that Alya learned recently, that Nora is her half-sister. Because that was kept from Alya, she developed this hate for lies. She felt betrayed by her family for keeping such a huge secret from her.
It was probably kept from her for a long time, because it sounded like Nora's sperm donor wasn't a good man, Nora says to Alya "Good for you that you never knew him" or something to that affect. It sounds like Otto (I believe that is his name) when first starting getting serious with Alya's mom took in Nora, and probably adopted her. He treats her as his own daughter, because she is, genetics has nothing to do with it. I love that little detail about Alya's family and her history.
BUT THEN THE WHOLE LETTER AND PORTRAIT THING??? Like Marinette is clearly just not doing okay, and it shows how this secret is eating her up, and destroying her. She knows what the right thing to do is, no matter how painful it is.
She feels as though she can separate this from being Ladybug. Marinette can tell the truth, but...what would that mean for Ladybug? The implications are astounding. The thing is, if Marinette tells him, he would think that either he's being tricked again, or that Marinette is. He may think the letter is a fake trying to upset them.
Because he trusts Ladybug, Ladybug wouldn't lie to him, so her word must be true, don't worry, Marinette that letter isn't real, because this is what Ladybug said. I think that the only way for Adrien to believe what his father truly is, what his father did, is that it has to come from Ladybug.
ALSO the end? Hello? It's a cliffhanger so we won't know what Marinette said or didn't say until the following episode (if that). But also just how the camera panned out and we see the the windows, and the blinds making it look like bars? That they are still in the jail of Gabriel's making, that they really can't be themselves, and be truly together until they break down those bars and be free from Gabriel once and for all.

So there's quite a few housekeeping to go over, so on we go!
First of all, the drive has been updated with the new episode (episode is in the french dub w/ subs folder), and in case you missed it we have more french w/ subs on there from prior premieres!! For more info on all that see here.
Second, seems like the leakers won't be a problem after all. According to multiple people who are in the telegram channel they were operating out of, they've been getting threats from ZAG so now they no longer want to drop the episodes lmao 💀 I'll still be maintaining a lookout in case they change their mind, but for now everyone applaud the power of lawsuits!
Third, as you can see in the airdates post, we have three english dubs ahead of us, both for the episodes that just dropped and for Riginarazione's (6x19), which is premiering via TF1+ on the 22nd, and then... a total blank slate on the coming months! We know Disney Channel USA won't be airing anything in May (for more info see here), but they also have a preference for holding on to episodes for the sake of dropping things in batches, so we might not be heading into hiatus territory yet! We still have TF1+ and RTS (the latter of which really needs to announce their airdates properly for my mental health lmao), and of course our lovely wildcard Gloob, so let's see where the wind takes us in May!
That's all I think! Hope you guys enjoyed the episode, and stay tuned for more!
