Known for: One of the main characters from the hit television series The Office, he is one of the few characters who doesn’t have a British counterpart in the original U.K. version of The Office, & thus makes him unique to the American version. He is a sales representative who works at Dunder Mifflin, & has worked for the company for many years. He is very hardworking, takes his job seriously, & gets along well with his fellow employees (having a particularly close friendship with Phyllis), but at the same time he’s also kind of grumpy & doesn’t care much for Michael Scott. He also has a daughter from a previous relationship named Teri, & is also diabetic. Throughout the series, he’s appeared in most of the episodes & has had many adventures of his own, & he also has several catchphrases, a notable one being “Did I stutter?” He eventually retired during the 9th season of the show to live in Florida & carve birds sculptures out of wood, but he returned for the series finale for the company’s reunion.
Evidence of Faith: Stanley directly states that he is Catholic in the show itself. In the first episode of Season 4 titled “Fun Run”, Michael goes around & asks his employees what their religious beliefs are, & Stanley states that he is Catholic. Season 1 of the show also establishes that his daughter Teri attends Catholic school, which illustrates that his daughter is also Catholic & that he believes in good religious education.
