# 077 - Sally is his rock. She keeps him straight and sane during moments of stress, desperation and frustration. She makes sure he doesn't thread beyond the rules or makes harsh decisions. That's why she doesn't like him involving Sherlock in their cases. She's afraid of what it will do to his reputation, even though she knows Greg calls in Sherlock so thy catch the killers quicker than if they would do it without him. It gives Greg an easy feeling and helps him sleep at night. But when the evidence pointed towards Sherlock during the kidnapping of the ambassador's children, she couldn't keep quiet any longer and went to their Chief Superintendent. She didn't want to rat Greg out, but had no choice. Greg felt betrayed and it took him quite a long time to start trusting Sally again. He loves Sally (either romantically or platonically, depending on verse) and he wouldn't know what to do without her. He will fight hard and dirty to keep her by his side and he feels he wouldn't be able to function properly without her. She is his best friend and he trusts her more than any one (but his trust wavers after she ratted him out). It's no wonder his ex accused him of having an affaire with her during their failing marriage. But until after his divorce, he'd never had a sexual interest in her (also depending on verse)
