For the 20th year Toronto has hosted Salsa Fest on St. Clair W. It is a celebration of all things Latino - music, dancing, food & culture. Salsa Fest is also about the people who live and work in the neighborhood and the people who come to enjoy the culture during the festival. I've tried to capture that joy and spirit in these photos. I don't know whether they do the festival or the people justice or not. Summer's here and so are the street festivals. One of my favorites has always been Salsa Fest that takes place on St. Clair Ave. W. between Christie St. & Winona Dr. in Toronto, ON. I often wonder if the attendees actually realize how much logistics, planning, negotiations and execution go into staging such an event by the organizers? So here's to them and here's to the emcees Camilla Gonzalez and Ivan Wanis Ruiz who are so instrumental in inspiring the crowd in appreciation of the various acts. Great job! Yes and they can dance too. 🥸 From the colorful costumes of Llasas De Bolivia [telling the story between good and evil] to the Tall Beats [look for the ladies on stilts no less] to the dance ensembles of Dance Connexion and Salsa Calena there is much to see and do. My favorite though was Salsotika. What a tight, talented band. Then there's the people and the food. Come and enjoy!
