Hi, I saw that your requests are open, so may I ask for some comfort headcanons or whatever you wanna write with Horsemen and Samael? Hope you're doing good
Duuuuude yes I've been waiting for another Samael request! I'm doing well, just excited to start school and a new job soon! I hope this drabble finds you well 😉
Death I wholeheartedly believe takes the Asian Parent TM approach to comfort. You want words of affirmation? He doesn't have them. You want physical affection? Not his wheelhouse. His way of comforting someone he cares about goes all the way back to when he used to take care of his siblings. He focuses more on making sure whatever is making his loved ones upset isn't a physical threat to their well-being. One thing that he does do when you're feeling down about your human issues is cut up fresh fruit for you. If you've taken to hiding in your room, he'll silently slink in with a bowl of your favorite fruit to snack on before he disappears again. If you go to his horse, Despair shows his master's true emotions by acting extra clingy and affectionate.
However, if there is something that even resembles a physical threat, he's on it. He'll deal with whatever demon, angel, or human is threatening HIS family. It will be over for whatever poor soul has wronged his little human before they even know he's descended upon them. His human will wake up suddenly with nothing in their way to stop them. Unburdened by the holy and unholy.
Strife is much better in the whole comfort department. Feeling sad about human things that a bullet won't fix? Movies, snacks, and a little alcohol or weed if you partake. He's the one who will talk the MOST shit about your coworkers or classmates with you. He'll have you laughing at your problems before you know it. He secretly thinks it's adorable how small humans are compared to him and takes delight when his favorite little one sits on his lap looking for a little comfort.
However, if he can deal with the problem with a gun, well placed bullet, and scathing quip? He'll do it. He'll make a big deal about it, too. He definitely comes back from the execution looking for praise for dealing with the issue. May become a little selfish, briefly forgetting his humans' fears in place of that sweet, sweet Validation.
Fury encourages her favorite human to deal with their own interpersonal issues with other humans. Like Death, she doesn't have much to offer in the comfort department. Not because she's incapable, but because she doesn't want to come across as soft. She will lend an ear and a shoulder to cry on, but once the tears have dried she's dusting her human off and sending them on their way with bad advice about murdering your human rival and being done with it.
If it's an issue that can be killed, she's taking her human along to do the job themselves. She'll stand by to make sure they don't die, but ultimately she wants them to become stronger. Fury takes care of a lot of humans. While she's prone to favoritism, she knows she can't be around all the time to protect her loved ones. She learned that from Rampages death. Her solution to that is to make them less weak so that she doesn't have to be there. It brings her peace knowing her human can handle themselves, but she will intervene when they're in over their head.
War has become one of the best huggers around and will scoop up a sad human like a little kitten and pet their head until they aren't sad anymore. Ruin takes to his masters temperament and will whine like a pony to get your attention. War will intimidate your enemies and rivals without even trying. He will use his massive hands like blankets to keep his human warm and cozy while they vent about their day.
His wrath will not be contained should his human be threatened. Whether the threat is human or inhuman, he will annihilate it with barbarous cruelty. He learned early on not to bring his little humans' enemies heads to them as trophies after the first time they shrieked in horror over the prize. He may feel a little dejected at the rejected gift, but will settle for any other praises deemed fit.
Samael has learned that not everything his favorite human complains about needs to be.... Dealt with after one of his humans' coworkers went missing "mysteriously". They seemed worried rather than happy. He made it a point NOT to tell about his involvement in that one. The last thing he wants to do is fall out of favor with his little human. That coworker was never found, though. It seemed like a win in his book. The annoyance was dealt with and his human would eventually get over their "disappearance".
You would think he would deal with physical threats to his tiny human the same way, but often in his realm the threat is another demon that needs to be made an example out of. And make an example out of them he does. The demons that even remotely implied harm to HIS human were often tortured for his amusement. If his human wants to join in? The more the merrier! He encourages savagery from something so small and fragile. If anything, he gets off on it. In hell, you're nothing but your strength.
