Hi, I'm considering getting pygmy panther geckos in the future and keeping them in a bioactive enclosure. There isn't a lot of information about them so I was wondering if you had any first hand info that might not be in the few care sheets I have found. I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences with caring for them because I want to make sure I am well informed and giving them the best care possible.
Yeah! They’re terrible little animals who are very hands off and poop so much more than you’d expect for creatures that size. I rarely see mine but when I do it’s a treat- they’re super fun to watch. They seem to really enjoy darting in and out of cork tubes and I’ll see little heads peek up from the leaf litter- it’s very charming.One thing in particular you gotta pay attention to is the fact that they need TINY FOOD. I tried to get mine to take repashy bug pie but they wanted no part of it. I breed dubia roaches so it’s not too difficult for me to acquire tiny food- they get only the wee-est of buggies- but I imagine that pinhead crickets or even flightless fruit flies would be good for them.
