also the jbros conversation is VERY closely tied to disney and how they marketed their child stars at the time. you make a tv show/movies, create a fanbase through that, and THEN release music for that specific fanbase. that was basically the entirety of the jbros audience. and that’s probably why they got so upset towards the end of their first era. they wanted to expand and get mainstream attention, but their structure just wasn’t set up and didn’t ALLOW them for that. THAT’S why their comeback is a big deal.
#1d has a similar thing when they come back bc.... god their situation is a mess#but yeah disney stars have interesting things#we only heard of miley off disney channel and radio disney once she stopped and made her 'own' music#same with selena#and we knew them bc we were kids and listened and watched#but the general population didn't really know them#not until like I said later when they broke into the MAINSTREAM
