After a long glee club rehearsal, there was nothing Marley wanted more than to go home, eat some good food, and take a nice, hot bath before binging The Staircase. Of course, those plans appeared to be foiled the second her bike turned onto her street. Both sides of the street in front of their house and their driveway were lined up with cars. Of course, Millie was gone for the weekend, which meant that her older brother, Will, had invited his senior friends over. With a sigh, she walked her bike the rest of the way, parked it in the garage, and entered through the kitchen door.
“Hey, Marls! Get you some pizza!” Will called out as he heard the door, stuck somewhere in the middle of the dog pile on the couch.
“On it!” Marley replied, stacking up a couple of slices of pepperoni pizza on a plate before she leaned over to put some ice in her cup for soda. “I’ll be in my room, if you need anything!”
Just then, one of her brother’s friends from the soccer team came in. His best friend, actually. Aaron Samuels. She felt her mouth go dry and quickly blinked to make herself not stare at him. Like a fine wine, Aaron only seemed to get better with age, but there was also the overhanging fact that he was her brother’s best friend aka completely off limits.
“You’re lucky it’s not Shark Week, or you’d have a sophomore crashing your party in there,” she joked, flashing him a sheepish smile as she poured herself a drink. “Need a refill?” / @samuelsaaron
