So, we all know Roman represents ego, right? And in My Negative Thinking, when Thomas felt insecure about his performance, he literally had a bruised ego. Roman was injured because Thomas let his anxiety get the better of him.

We all know that he probably got better over that episode, but what if some bruises from other incidents stayed?

So, I introduce you to my new headcanon. Whenever Thomas is feeling lackluster about a performance he did or something similar, Roman gets bruises. Everywhere. They only disappear when Thomas is feeling confident or less insecure about that specific performance in mind. But we all have those incidents where we always feel a little bit bad over something we did wrong. Roman’s bruises from those accidents stay. They never go away until Thomas doesn’t look back at those performances with dejection. And Roman doesn’t ever think they will. Since he’s not Thomas’ hero anymore, he doubts that his scars will ever heal.

Bonus points for angst if Roman is doing something really good and then Thomas lets Virgil get the better of him and feels bad after it. Roman gets a bunch of bruises and he doesn’t understand why Virgil thought it was bad. Thomas didn’t forget his lines why is he still injured what was wrong with the performance what was wrong with him-
