Wishing the beautiful and brave island of Malta a very happy Santa Marija Day! 77 years ago today the tanker Ohio eventually made it to Malta which was on its knees about to succumb to its enemy in World War II. It was carrying the life saving fuel, ammunition and oil accompanied by tankers loaded full with food, Malta was starving! The convoy suffered repeated brutal attacks as it made its way into Malta and was severely damaged.
