there really is something to be said for the appeal of keeping a pet in a literal gilded cage.
the bars shine, they're almost as much a decoration as the pet inside is, and they also restrain.
the pet earned its place in that cage through good behavior. there's no need for unsightly punishments for a pet like that. this does not rule out amusing ones, of course.
the pet gets the attention of a Goddess to ensure that it is fed, to ensure that it is bathed, perhaps perfumed, to choose what adornments it is to wear and how. pampered to the point of eating out of My hand.
but all that fine treatment is in service to its role, to make it serve Me better. the pet is made beautiful so that My life can be beautiful. so that My guests will see what a well-trained and beautiful pet I have.
a pet for whom everything that it has came as a gift from Me, and everything that I give it, I give because it serves Me.
