Spanish moon moths! As recommended by one of my followers in the ask box :3 wow these are so pretty!! They're basically like luna moths but with an added outline in photoshop lmao. Beautiful pattern, surprisingly rarely read about them anywhere. LOOK AT THOSE ANTENNAE!! C:
They come form the Saturniid family, and theyre native to spain and france! I might get to see one someday since i often travel there :)
Graellsia isabellae
I know he isnt a seal but I got a baby sea lion plush today and I thought you'd enjoy it nonetheless :>
OH MY GOD HIII HI HELLOW LITTLE FELLER . A THANG SUPREME.... DOES IT HAVE A NAME?
I attended an invertebrate show with my friends a few months back and ended up picking up four atlas moth cocoons towards the end.
I wasn't sure if they would emerge successfully but yesterday I found the first one sitting on my wardrobe.
Isn't it beautiful!
If the others hatch out in time then I will hopefully have some fertile eggs. I really want to see the whole life cycle of these amazing things.
@irradiated-cutie submitted: Hey! Anyway you could give me an ID on this beautiful moth that happened to lay eggs in my friends car? Thank you! Spotted in South Carolina!
I can! She's an imperial moth. Absolutely terrible place to lay her eggs lol. If your friend wants to relocate them, they could be placed gently on any of their host trees: pine, oak, maple, sweet gum, box elder, or sassafrass. :)
