Convert inches to centimeters and feet to meters. In school we do cm, but standard height measuring is in ft.

Convert farenheit to celcius in my head because the weather in in celcius but our ovens are in farenheit.

Recite a cups/teaspoons vs liters and ml chart from memory.

I could tell you my school is seven kilometers away, but the US border is 150 miles.

Every time I open a Word document I have to change it from English(Us) to English(Canada).

Canada is literally on fire rn. The fires are in Alberta, on the border of Manitoba and Ontario, and Greenstone is in a state of emergency - that's just northwest of White River. This shit is getting too close to home and I'm scared to go through what all those other places are going through. Honestly though what the fuck, fire? Government Attack Ads + Canadian Federal Election.

The Conservative Party’s need to make ‘attack ads’ towards Trudeau and Mulcair just shows they are scared. I especially enjoy how they contradict themselves, one ad saying that Trudeau is too young and inexperienced, and the other saying Mulcair has been at it for a while and just isn’t a fresh enough face. 

You know who isn’t a fresh face, Mr. Harper? You. You know who Canada just can’t afford? You. Your Conservative party, our completely broken and burning economy, and the need to spend money on creating these attack ads to begin with. 

The Election Campaign has begun, and poles are already showing NDP’s at equal standing with the Conservatives. Thank. Freaking. God. Lets do this, people. Please

Education should be free, more money should be spent on programs combating mental illness and big corporations should be heavily taxed to pay for it. I would be willing to pay more taxes if I knew my taxes would be used wisely, but unfortunately, in Canada, with Stephen Harper's regime in power, that's not where our taxes go. In towns across Canada, troupes of mischievous activists are successfully derailing the attempts of TransCanada—the company building the stalled Keystone XL pipeline—to ram through their latest proposed project, the Energy East pipeline, which would bring over a million barrels of Tar Sands oil to the East Coast for export, primarily to Europe and Asia. During previous pipeline projects, stakeholders were able to express concerns in front of their whole community. To impede the type of opposition that has stalled past projects, this time TransCanada has changed the format of community consultations, turning them into trade-show-like promotional events where stakeholders can only speak one-on-one with company representatives (or PR contractors hired for the occasion). To outwit this latest ploy by TransCanada, local activists all along the pipeline route have been swarming these events dressed just like TransCanada reps, but with lookalike “SaveCanada” name tags and brochures. Instead of promoting the pipeline, the SaveCanada reps communicate risks. “Since TransCanada has come up with a new way to lie to the public, we had to come up with a new way to tell the truth,” said North Bay farmer Yan Roberts, who helped to launch the unusual protest. “We’re friendly folks, so our solution is to dress like them, outnumber them, and ‘out-friendly’ them in every community they’re trying to scam.”
