I just reread and I have a few questions (that hopefully haven't been answered before)...

1, in moon 16, since it just got mentioned -- Spottedfrost ratted Minklake out to Crowstar for doing something they shouldn't have been doing, and it made them pretty resentful of him. What exactly did they do to warrant that? My first thought was that they might've been looking for Cinnamonpaw, but I don't really think that would've gotten them into trouble, nor would it really be a big enough deal to still be bitter at Spottedfrost over it so many moons later. Unless I missed something?

2, when Carolina first got found, he asked the patrol to just leave him to bleed. Why was that? What happened to him to make him so ready to die alone? And why did Fennelacorn seem so freaked out as well? Was it related to why he and his daughters had needed shelter? (As in, did he assume whoever was after Carolina was also who he and his girls were escaping from ?)

3, why were Piperdapple and Oscypek being so secretive about who the sire of Piper's kits was? I assume it's common knowledge that he's their dad now that they've been born, but why did they wait to say who it was until then? I do remember it being mentioned that the cats in the Clan were theorizing on who it could be, plus Fennel and Finchwisp obv seemed caught off guard to see Oscypek come in. So why'd they let it be a surprise?

(Also, just an additional comment, but I think I recall you saying in another ask or in tags somewhere that if it had just been Mink and Fennel on the patrol that found Carolina, they would've left him there like he asked. Which I think is funny since Minklake has since become friends with Carolina and is apparently also catching feelings for him. Bet they're glad now that Spottedfrost didn't let them leave him, huh?)

1). What exactly was Minklake doing in Moon 16 and why would Spottedfrost tell on them?

So, you're right, Minklake was searching for clues about Cinnamonpaw's whereabouts. They were just doing it in secret because a) they knew their clanmates would try to discourage them from going on a fruitless goosechase, especially if it could involve them putting themselves in danger and b) because they were kind of ditching their chores to do so.

The problem arises when Spottedfrost catches them doing something suspicious, and instead of just explaining to him what's going on, their response is to immediately threaten him into silence. Remember that Goldpurr was murdered not too long before this point, with the killer still unknown. As far as he knew, Minklake could've killed her and then set up Cinnamonpaw's disappearance because he got too close to finding out the truth, and they needed him out of the way. That, combined with just generally being bold and having a strong sense of justice, is why he immediately reported them to Crowstar.

Minklake resents Spottedfrost to this day because they saw him doing that as actively preventing them from searching for Cinnamonpaw. And, honestly, that report really did pretty much put an end to them being able to do so freely.

2). Why did Carolina ask the clan cats to leave him?

It was meant less as a "I've had enough, just let me die" and more of a "I don't want to get hurt any more than I already am, please just leave me alone". Carolina just didn't know the difference between the cats that had just attacked him and the SporeClan patrol, and was scared that his attackers had come back to finish him off. He also was not really thinking coherently in the moment, so he probably wasn't fully able of thinking the consequences of being left behind through

As for Fennelacorn being so freaked out about it, all will be revealed eventually. But yes, it does have something to do with why he needed shelter so desperately and why he acted so paranoid during his first couple moons.

(As for the side note, I believe I said that in the tags of Moon 16 and I absolutely still stand by that lol :'D Minklake is generally just not really that interested in trying to help where it's asked for and would've been 1000% down to just "your funeral" this situation and move on, while Fennelacorn was absolutely willing to leave a stranger to die if it meant less risk of being followed in those early moons. He probably would've saved him had it happened today, though!)

(Either way, yes, it makes it so much more ironic and funny that Minklake is so close with Carolina now lol. They were so lucky that Spottedfrost was there to be the voice of reason haha :'D)

3. Why were Piperdapple and Oscypek being so secretive over their kits?

It's kind of a comedy of errors where everyone just for one reason or another just couldn't figure out how to breech the subject. In Piperdapple's case, it's not really that she was being secretive, she just didn't figure that it was important to mention. In her mind, it's not really about Oscypek, it's about her exciting new venture and her babies.

On Oscypek's part, he just doesn't know what clan culture norms are around parentage, and was terrified that revealing himself would be committing some grand faux pas. He already very much feels like an outsider and would hate to ostracize himself even further, so he decided to keep it to himself unless Piper said anything... which she, of course, did not :'D

As for everyone else, the ones who cared to gossip about it had probably caught on long before the kits were born. Spottedfrost would've pretty quickly denied it was him if asked, so the only real options left would be Oscypek or some random loner. Finchwisp initially really convinced herself it was the latter or Spottedfrost and then later was just, y'know, too preoccupied with the Greenpaw situation to really keep up with the latest gossip, so that's why it shocked her specifically so much.

🪲: What do they value most?

Definitely connections and reputation! This man thrives off of knowing everything about everyone at any moment, and he needs his good standings with everyone else to be privy to the newest drama on the block

🌳: What are their life goals? Deputy, Leader, MedCat/Healer?

Puddle doesn't have any grand ambitions to be honest. He just wants to hang out and be a bit too nosy. In fact, he might already be living his dream just by virtue of being around a large group of people who have tons of interpersonal drama to angst about all the time lol

😸: 3 fun facts!

- The reason he squints all the time is just that his eyes are really sensitive to light! He has a similar gene to that of the Topaz cat, which depigments the eyes specifically. That's also why they're such a pale blue and the pupils are all pink-ish! I imagine he probably has some level of visual impairment due to how intense the light sensitivity is, and his habit of squinting isn't helping that either

- He actually wasn't planning on staying in SporeClan long and really just came here to check the situation out. But after a while he decided he enjoyed it here so much that he settled down for the long haul!

- While, yes, he DOES enjoy himself some good ol people watching, a good amount of what his clanmates perceive as him staring at or watching them is honestly just him zoning out so unbelievably hard. Most of what he learns about others is by conversation, not actually by witnessing

💤: Are they a heavy or light sleeper? What are their dreams like?

Very, very light sleeper! In fact, so light of a sleeper that he can't fall asleep around loud sleepers. This leads to him being regularly found sleeping in hard to access and oddly out of the way places around camp by his clanmates

As for his dreams - I don't know! I feel like he'd probably be one of those people who just don't dream, or at least don't recall their dreams

🐁: Favourite prey?

I think he'd really enjoy pheasant! It's kind of a rare treat and he gets to enjoy it with multiple clanmates

🕸: What does their family tree look like?

It's nothing really special :') He was born a single kit to town cats, either strays, kittypets or either or. He doesn't really talk with or about them. Good luck getting any information about them at all out of him though lol he's a man with a death grip on his secrets no matter how trivial they are!

🧹: Favourite and least favourite clan task/chore/patrol?

He would probably really enjoy changing out the bedding in the dens! He gets to eavesdrop and stay in dim, temperate conditions. What's not to love?

Now he isn't really one to complain, and he's generally happy so long as he has some form of company. So I think his least favourite activity would probably be something like hunting alone? Especially during winter where it's cold, it's bright and the prey is scarce.

😸: 3 random facts!

1) Mousegrove was one of the first to start noticing the rapid spread of the mushrooms when she was an apprentice, and the first in her clan to bring it up (not that they listened or anything like that lol). In fact, Mousepaw was actually the very first cat ever pictured in this comic!

2) She was always a bit of an outcast, and was always ostracized in her original clan. It wasn't until after she joined SporeClan that she started making genuine connections. Even her ex-mate she later realized she never really had a true connection with.

3) Mousegrove's favourite thing in the whole wide world is a nice and clean nest, especially newly fluffed and nicely decorated!

⏰: How far ahead do you usually play?

I usually play to about 12-15 moons-ish ahead! Lets me play and get new exciting ideas for characters while also giving me enough of a buffer to salvage any messing up of plotlines that the rng likes to pull :'D I'm currently up to moon 42

⛰: Lore you've been wanting to share but haven't gotten the chance to?

For Piperdapple, it's a little hard to say because she's still alive for the rng to give me prompts that let me tell more lore. Best I can do for ya is that she was super close with Oakfox, and still thinks about him frequently to this day. This, right here, is literally from moon 29:

But with Oakfox it's a lot less complicated! (rip king)

Oakfox loved kits SOOO much. He spent much of the time helping Mousegrove and Fennelacorn take care of their kits, and he wanted to raise kits of his own one day SO badly. He and Foxspeckle were even considering finding a donor if they couldn't find a litter to adopt, but unfortunately they never got around to that before he died </3
