Scionic Cycle: book 5
Inspiration and energy collided. I'm writing more about Kun's corruption.
the story starts with Kun, the hero from the trilogy, stating that he's the hero. He is the Scion and he can help. And then he is thrown into a political scandal. This man is a street brawler. He knows nothing about politics, economics, or capitalism.
I wrote book 4 with Wan as the first person POV. It'll be interesting trying to show how unprepared Kun is to deal with politics in first person.
Kun is connected to the ancient spirit Nymaroh. She is the spirit of harmony. Basically she is his patron goddess. As he becomes more and more confused and frustrated, she steps in to guide him. As their thoughts sync up (she manipulates Kun), they talk and act as one.
The climax has Nymaroh usurping the throne, arresting all politicians and merchants, and locking down the city. To create order. For the good of the city.
Now to figure out how to write all of that. And set up Kun's comeuppance via Wan.
Writing
I don't know what came over me. Maybe it was the warm, sunny day. I wrote almost 6000 words in a WIP that I haven't touched for a significant amount since Nov of 22.
It's the 5th book in a series. The righteous hero is going to be corrupted by the system meant to keep everyone trapped. He wants to fix the system. Instead he turns into a dictator.
Our boy doesn't know how to govern. He knows how to punch.
The world is inspired by Avatar the Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra. No. Not ripped off from. Inspired by.
If you want to know more about the previous books, or this one, just ask. I'll talk you're ear off.
I might talk it off if you want me to or not.
Scionic Cycle: B4 [Thesis] thoughts
I’m doing it again. I wrote 3 books about Kun accepting who he is and then becoming that person. We have someone who thought he was no one. He tortured himself. He was suicidal. And then he accepted that he is a man. Then the cascade of changes turned him into the Scion. He became a hero.
Now I have Wan who everyone said that he as the Scion. Then he was tortured and forced to do horrific things. He has horrible PTSD. He is suicidal. He thinks that he can never be a hero because of who he is. Then he accepted that he is a hero.
Kun and Wan are yin and yang, equals and opposites. Both men are heroes, but they didn’t think they could be. Wan doesn’t need to go through 3 books to accept himself and become the hero. He already was a hero. He needed 1 book to understand that.
That makes B5 the story how Kun becomes corrupted and hurts a lot of people. The methods may be different (Wan was visceral and revenge based), but Kun will hurt as many people as Wan. Kun’s tools will be state sanctioned violence for the sake of harmony.
And B6 will be Wan stopping Kun and saving Kun from himself. Just like how Kun saved Wan in B3.
