Comparing translucent #premo and #sculpeyIII Right out of the package, III is VERY soft. To the point of getting sticky. Premo is much firmer. Almost too firm, but that’s an easier problem to solve. Testing nickel sized pieces, baked at suggested time and temp. III was very easy to break and couldn’t be read through. I couldn’t snap the Premo piece. It is translucent enough to read through. Thinnest strips the pasta machine can produce. III was difficult to even get through the rollers. Too sticky. Not as translucent as premo, but can read through. I was able to snap it in half, by folding, with a little effort. Premo required some softener to get through the machine without crumbling. Translucency is much better. I couldn’t break the strip by folding. Mixing 1 to 1 ratio was surprisingly strong. The disk took a bit of effort to break, and the strip wouldn’t snap, when folded in half. Translucency isn’t any better, though. Might be worth further research 🔬 All three mixed with #jaquard pigment powder ok. The III and hybrid ended up a little less shiny. I forgot to test alcohol ink. That would probably be worth try. #sculpey #polymerclay #science https://www.instagram.com/p/CTrmc7urc71/?utm_medium=tumblr
