Though I think we all feel a certain restlessness in the winter, for me it’s always been much worse in the spring. I can’t really explain why but this time of year I start to feel like I’m crawling out of my skin. There is this bone deep yearning to be outside and witness the coming of spring. I sit at my desk and daydream about sparrow songs and that sweet, wet smell of new growth. With spring comes this insatiable hunger for fresh air and freedom. Second Growth Structures in the Tongass National Forest

My good friend and boatmate Dan Sheehan - a timber-framer who has done work all over the country - volunteered quite a bit of time to help build a local bike shed for the community conservation society.  A nice video summed up the project.
