I don’t get it. I wrote about this promising Finnish artist called Selja Sini some two years back and then I just waited for her to release an album or something.
Today I remembered her again and thought I’d see if anything has happened lately. Well yes, she released an EP some six months back?!? It’s right here on Spotify and it’s called Back Home. I found a video for a track called Picture Us from almost a year back, and it all sounds GREAT! It’s easy going indie folk pop and Selja has this really soothing singing voice and style.
SO WHY THE HELL HAVEN’T I HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT HER IN THE FINNISH MUSIC BLOGS’N’PRESS?!?
Seriously, why? Ok, there is the fact that she apparently has moved to Salt Lake City in Utah, USA. I think she got married too as her last name has changed from Felin to Engar. I think she married the guy she’s been playing with, an American called Brett Engar.
They have reviews in local American publications, but I can’t seem to find anything from Finland. Maybe she didn’t let anyone know? Well, I’m ruining that plan now.
