Sendarya gives us back "our old children"--
Let's spread the Healing as soon as possible!
With so much Gratitude to @sendarya for this gem of an edit that I discovered on YouTube, posted there several hours ago! (At the time I'm sharing this, it's not on their blog yet, so please go and give this video -- and @sendarya's many excellent video analyses -- some love!)
The biggest difficulty many of us have with the finale is that God explicitly states, "...Humans and life will return, in all its mundane glory. Something that BOTH OF YOU will neither KNOW nor EXPERIENCE."
She set the rule. Our Ineffables are gone. No healing. No peace together as themselves. Asa and Anthony are their lovely echoes. Beautiful, familiar, New children. Those human echoes find a peace and healing together that god haughtily denied from our own Crowley and Aziraphale. That NG denied.
With just a few simple changes to the dialogue, we could have kept Our Own Beloved Ineffables, with their memories, their history, their You-ness, in all its messy, painful, loving, not-at-all-mundane glory, and still fixed the world. Human -- but still themselves.
Sendarya's creative and beautiful solution fixes this. Please try it out -- even if you came to terms with the ending we were given.
We loved Our Ineffables because of how relatable they are, how very human those feelings are. Well, humans can heal. We need to be out of the trauma, we need time and support, but YES, WE CAN HEAL!
In this "new" ending, Crowley gets to experience that healing, too.
