Heavily Based Off Of: Heavy Is The Head That Wears The Crown—
Winter wasn't his favorite but it was a close second.
It was just the way things go quiet during the period that brought about a sense of peace the other seasons didn't hold.
And perhaps, it was just the sight of seeing his companion settle into the growing chill of the early morn that has him falling in love with the snowflakes that brought a smile up their face.
"Do you want to dance on the lake?" Sukuna rumbles out his question during one such moment, eyes lingering over pale callused fingers thumbing over the frosted flake.
(It doesn't melt, Uraume ran cold, like the dead.
Some would think it unsettling.
But he never truly feared death, not when it can be beautiful too.)
"On the lake?" They humor him, a brow raised in amusement and for that, he grins with all his teeth bared.
"Of course, what- Think I'll fall through the ice?" There's a hum and nothing else, he has to snort at that, it was a fair assumption considering his stature.
"More of, I'm sure you'll break the ice deliberately."
"Hey!"
(They head to the frozen lake anyway, bringing along a box of snacks and tea.)
"Sukuna-kun, what are these." It's not a question but he merely puts the ice skates on and standing wide.
"Ice Skates, Ume. They'll help us dance." They don't believe him, pink eyes boring into his crimson pair with an unimpressed stare.
"Are you still upset about the knives? There's no reason to put them on our shoes." Uraume grumbles but they're putting them on despite it all, bless their heart, for being an enabler.
"Do they even work?"
"They do."
"Have you tried it?"
"Nope!"
(Uraume, born for the ice, takes to ice skating with surreal grace.
Sukuna manages once he lets his top heavy weight help lead him along.)
Smaller hands take ahold of his own lower pair as his white haired friend guides him away from a face plant, any complaints thoroughly thawed away as they cut through the ice.
(Uraume was right, in the end, he grew hungry and Cleaved a hole into the ice to snag a fish.)
They dance like this, on the lake, just as he said they would.
