talking about fursonas the other day with my partner and suddenly realised that i did have one already that i should absolutely draw again now, now that i have more art skills, and also a direct line to the kids who made this creature to begin with

so, here she is! kestrel de serval, baby's first fursona, originally designed circa roughly 2005 and not drawn since at least 2007 (the dress is heavily inspired by an early 1900s columbine costume i found on pinterest). i distinctly remember kestrel being designed bc 1) little me was obsessed with wildcats, and 2) we weren't into dogs enough to be into sparkledogs. we used to sign notes we passed in class with little drawings of her face

i'm feeling especially proud of my paw work here, as imperfect as it is, given i've literally never (that we can recall) drawn paw hands before!

remembered in the process of this that the character was originally supposed to be a serval-kestrel griffin, but that we never drew her that way because we didn't think we could figure out how to do it right when we were a kid, so!! i'm gonna tackle that next! and then design some other ones!!!!
