Glad Myalos has the body they wanted but I'm not sure whether they sided with Notha of his own accord or if she did something to them that got him to "change" his mind. Or if they weren't fully cleansed of the Shadowscythe seed like they originally thought.

"KILLED ME?" it laughs. "With that blade given to you by your captain?"

I look down at my blade in horror.

"Yes, yes. Now you get it. That blade is tampered with. The charge was dialed down to minimal levels when we last fought. You didn't think you won due to your superior skills, did you?"

I did. I thought my mega awesome five star mecha piloting skills somehow translated well into the field of hand to hand weapons. Stupid!

"I'm an old business partner of Sys Zero, you see. He's one of our many customers and clients...Sys Zero knew ahead of time that there would be a powerful mecha pilot coming on board who would, presumably, fight for the horrible Kingadent."

"You Take That Back!" I couldn't help but say. "The Kingadent is the greatest!"

"The moment his charismatic speech flooded the ears of the ship you were under his spell, and Sys Zero knew. He had no proof, nothing that could sway you against the Kingadent. He is a pragmatic one who takes no chances...so he hired me to off you. Why else would he choose you to seek me out through these vents and hulls???"

I knew it. Sys Zero wanted me dead.

"However...like a weak fool he changed his mind at the last second. He tried one last time to sway you. Tell me, Cluie?" He takes a step towards me. I shrink back in fear. He says in a mocking tone: "Did you feel...remorse when you had to kill me? Sadness? A moment of human empathy?"

"Wha-?"

"It doesn't matter. I'm still gonna kill you. I've been hiding down here with nothing to do for hours and I've become sooooo bored. So now I'm gonna kill you for learning too much. That's what I'll tell Sys Zero...you learned too much and you still side with Kingadent."

"Always," I say automatically, and I mean it. I'm scared shitless, but I'm Kingadent Slugwrath's to the very end.

Then...it lunged.

But then...

I swung out of instinct and it feels different. The shadow scythe for hire's head comes clean off. 

...Tek...

I'm leaving these vents. I've seen enough.
