FOR TODAY'S DOODLES, I PRESENT TO THEE:

SHARDBLADES!!!

So I got an ipad for christmas, and so I'm slowly learning how to use procreate/learning how to do digital art. So I decided to try and design some Shardblades. And by design I mean I took some swords that I liked the design of and traced over the outlines and then tried to color them and make them look good.

Top Row: Dustbringer (Blade modeled after Raze-Lighter from Destiny), Stoneward (roughly based on the Burning Maul from Destiny 2), Lightweaver (Spearhead based on a dip pen nib)

Middle Row: Windrunner (based on the Spear of Cassius from the Evangelion Rebuild movies), Edgedancer (based on the longsword version of Vigilance from Dragon Age Awakening), Elsecaller (based on the Sentinel's Greatblade from WoW)

Bottom Row: Willshaper (based on the Infinity Blade from the game series of the same name), Truthwatcher (Based on the Lightbinder Blade from Guild Wars 2), Skybreaker (based on Duelist's Dancing Steel from WoW)

For the glows, I just tried to adapt the techniques I know for making glowy bits on Warhammer models.

Anyways, I have been hard at work thinking about how cool it would be if some of the dead shardblades came in the form of axes, hammers, and polearms. Like I understand that they're all swords on a meta level to justify the lighteyed obsession with swords, and are all swords in universe because they were locked into their ceremonial forms... but still. Where is my stuck up lighteyes wearing the corpses of spren, wielding the corpse of a sentient spren in the form of a giant fuck off warhammer.

All this thinking just to say: I have an unhealthy obsession with historical crow's beak warhammers

Honestly if I had a Radiant Shardblade I would NOT care about the practicality of its shape.

I’d want mine shaped like the Arch weapon from El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron

Cause like, It’s a shard blade… who cares what it’s shaped like if it’ll cut through almost anything

Wait hang on. If a Radiant can choose to dull their living blade for sparring, and there were no deadeyes prior to the recreance, then what were Shardblade Guards for?
