Here is the cover of a children’s picture book titled She Leads: The Elephant Matriarch by June Smalls & illustrations done by Yumi Shimokawara. It’s a book that teaches children about the matriarchal society of packys, & explains who the matriarch is & what they do in a herd. Based on the cover alone, I can telll that the illustrations look fantastic!

International Women’s Day began in 1911, sparked by women who were done being silent. Factory workers, teachers, mothers, activists - women who marched for fair pay, safety, dignity and the right to shape their own futures.
The suffragettes carried that fight with ferocity. They organised strikes, chained themselves to railings, endured arrests, hunger strikes, and force-feeding - all to win the simple right to vote. They weren’t fighting for privilege. They were fighting for personhood.
Their courage reshaped history, but the work didn’t end with them.
International Women’s Day exists because equality is not a given - it’s something generations of women have had to demand, defend and rebuild again and again.
Women deserve equality because they are human.
Because their ideas build nations.
Because their labour holds families and economies together.
Because their creativity, leadership, and resilience push the world forward.
Because no society can call itself fair while half its people are expected to shrink.
Women are amazing not because they endure hardship, but because they transform it into progress.
Because they nurture and innovate.
Because they rise and bring others with them.

This cute girl graduated Saturday. I’m sad that she is not going to be in yearbook with me anymore, and I know I will miss all of the “Are you coming to Edge tonight?” on Wednesdays. I am thrilled that she is starting her new beginning in College. She has impacted so many people, mine is definitely included. She acts so strong and always has a smile on her face no matter how crappy her day is. I’ll miss being her lab partner in Chemistry, and all the sassy remarks. She is the one who brings the light and gets everyone to laugh. We need more people like her.
a–beautiful–somewhere I am so glad you have been apart of my life. You inspire me to be a better Christian. I am thankful you included me in everything, including Edge. I know you have impacted a lot of people with your spirited and outgoing personality. I will definitely miss you during school and I hope you come visit me in Yearbook. You are such a loving and beautiful person, I am excited to see where God leads you.
P.S. without you, i probably would never have listened to twenty one pilots, and so i am thankful you were in my life to introduce me to them. Also your music is my favorite.
