(rushes in, trips over the threshold, gets back up while waving a present) Happy Birthday!! Sorry, I was busy with some school stuff but I get you something! (inside the package is a bunch of novels, mostly fantasy ones)
Mary gives a squeak of surprise before ensuring you’re steady on your feet again.
“Goodness gracious, please don’t worry about it! School is important and…”
She pauses as her eyes fix on the gift. “Oh is that…for me? Oh, you shouldn’t have…”
Delicate fingers unwrap the present to reveal the books as her lips part in awe.
“Books!!” she chirps as she holds them to her chest. “And so many of them!! Oh, what a wonderful surprise, thank you so, so much!! These will make perfect night reads for sure!”
Her doe-like eyes scan every cover, pictures of magic spells and dragons and fairies decorate the surfaces as she smiles.
“…I know a certain magic-loving papa who would love to read these with me…” she giggles softly.
Aye! Try giving this a read lass! *the anon hands Peace a book on Celtic folklore and myths*
*she excitedly accepts another new book* “Thank you very much! I can’t wait to start reading these!”
Yesterday, my daughter had library day for her class at school and checked out ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ because she saw the movie and wanted to read the book now.
