So basically when they claim “Israel steals Palestinians’ homes” the houses aren’t even owned by the Palestinians but Jews whose families were kicked out by Jordan in 1948 and still retained ownership? And the Palestinians stopped paying rent but acted like they owned the place?

If you are referring to the Sheikh Jarrah issue and its "evictions," this is the best summary I have ever seen; please read the whole thing.

It's a great microcosm of all the details in I/P that the outside world never comprehends. These are properties that changed owners 5 times in 50 years (Ottoman, Jewish charity, UK, Jordan, Israel), lots of people still have their paperwork from prior regimes, but we live in Today, and right now, in Today, someone has to collect the rent. The Palestinian inhabitants agreed in court to pay (an insignificant) rent, then were convinced not to honor that deal and stop paying because the Jews have no right to be there and surely Israel will be destroyed soon. They are now sticking to that position whenever Israel tries to compromise with them - "Why should we compromise, go back to Poland." Basically no one was actually evicted and it was in litigation for decades, yet the outside world treated it like Les Mis. Special thanks to John Oliver - the pro-choice Glenn Beck - for soundbiting a generation of college students to hate Jews and encourage endless conflict over this. The innumerable charity groups for Pitystine could have paid all their mortgages up to the next ice age, but their point is to prolong and glamorize conflict instead of resolving it.

stop calling what is happening between israel and palestine a “conflict.” a conflict infers both sides have an equal power. what is happening in palestine shows none of that. this isn’t a conflict, it’s ethnic cleansing, oppression, and apartheid.

as I am writing this, I am currently listening to Muna el Kurd’s live on instagram (@muna.kurd15 on ig). Go watch it and see what the Israeli forces are doing to Palestinians, we’re literally watching ethnic cleansing taking place.

At approximately 3 am in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Occupied East Jerusalem, the Salhiya family home was stormed by Israeli forces and the Salhiya family was violently forced from their home. This comes after the Salhiya family resisted Israeli attempts to execute an eviction order on the property, despite the fact that the family had been living in the home for years. After resisting for more than 10 hours on the roof of their home and threatening to set both themselves and the home on fire, the Salhiya family was successful in initially driving Israeli forces from their home. But a few hours ago, Israeli forces returned to take the house and drive the family from their home.

The Israeli military stormed the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood at 3 in the morning, arresting Mahmoud Salhiya and two other family members and physically brutalizing anyone who was present. At 5:40 am in the morning Jerusalem time, Israeli forces began to destroy and demolish the home using bulldozers. The daughter of Mahmoud Salhiya, Yasmine Salhiya, says that her father had not slept in days and he was sleeping for the first time in days when Israeli forces broke into their home. She also reports that her 9 year old sister and her aunt were brutally beaten by Israeli forces and are currently unable to move as a result.

Israeli forces refused to allow any type of medical help/emergency service into the area around the Salhiya home, barricading any roads around the home despite multiple reports of screams for help being heard from inside the barricade. Journalists are also prevented from entering the barrier, with one journalist reporting that Israeli forces threatened to beat him if he approached the barrier.

The Salhiya home is DESTROYED there is nothing but rubble and destruction left. They were forced from their home with only the clothes on their back, they couldn’t even get their daughter’s pink schoolbag or her toys, they didn’t have a chance to collect anything. This is active ethnic cleansing that is being committed against Palestinian people by the Israeli government. This is what forced displacement looks like, the Salhiya family lost their home once before in 1948 and they have lost their home again in 2022. This is what generational trauma looks like, Israeli forces brutalized a child as young as nine years old.

If you support Israel, this is what you support. You support forced evictions in the middle of the night, you support destroying homes, you support the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. If you support Israel, you are a fascist.

The 'tourist' with the very American accent screaming at the Palestinians "We're here to stay. You're murderers" is not only horrific and abusive but tells you everything you need to know about the intentionally demonising propaganda and where it circulates. The "we" also tells you about the national identities of the settlers and occupiers, and apartheid enforcers.

The Palestinians are right, but also very brave, when they call them "theives" - they are. Israel has never been a peaceful immigration population.

What really happened on October 7th?

Through endless amounts of “israeli” propaganda, a large portion of the world was led to believe that this all started because Hamas attacked and killed “israeli” citizens at a concert being held outside the largest concentration camp in the world.

This was disproven on a number of occasions, but the most notable being the IOF themselves publicly coming forward to claim responsibility (if you can even call it that) for the people that were killed.

IOF soldiers are taught not to differentiate between Palestinian and “israeli” citizens. So on October 7th, with their guns loaded and their helicopters ready to take flight, they open fired indiscriminately at the crowd below.

47 days later somebody decided that “claiming responsibility” was the wrong move, so once they raided and forcibly took over Al-Shifa hospital IOF soldiers stole 100+ dead Palestinian bodies, used them to stage photos of what they were initially calling “a Hamas attack”, returned the bodies 2 days later that were once wrapped in white cloth, now shoved into blue garbage bags, and used the photos to try and stay on top of their insidious propaganda game.

A little too late for that, don’t you think?
