The library was empty at that time of the day - most of the students had gone away to enjoy the rest of their evening outside of a classroom, not to mention the fact that old-fashioned books had been slowly replaced in terms of importance by digital media. Except for exam weeks (when people would be cramming for their tests and occupying every single study desk available), the shelves provided a quiet, even private environment.
It would not have been incorrect to assume that Melissa had been there in search of something else than pure knowledge - or, more accurately, someone. The brunette did have a paper or two to write for her classes, but the agent-in-training was not at the library to check out much needed books that had not yet been digitalized. Instead, her curious eyes inspect row after row, discreetly peering at each one before moving forward, eventually grinning when she spotted another individual.
The carpeted floor offered her an advantage - no doubt something planned to reduce the noise for the benefit of other library occupants, but definitely an aspect Melissa capitalized on. Carefully going into the row just after the one Will was in, she placed herself directly in front of him on the other side of the bookshelf, enjoying his very focused expression. It was well above a minute before his eyes strayed from the pages, finding instead the woman that clearly watched him with intent.
"Hello, professor," she said in a whisper, smile going wide upon recognition and adding a wink for good measure. Melissa straightened her back then, going around the corner to properly meet up with Will, sparing no more than a cursory glance at the heavy book in his hands before parking right at his side - definitely closer than a student had any need to be to one of their teachers.
"You weren't in your office. I dropped by earlier, but you left the lights on and a lot of documents scattered over the desk," Melissa explained, not without some sliver of satisfaction in having guessed Will's location correctly. There was always the possibility of the man having gone home, leaving an unlocked door and lights on by accident; but the young and hopeful agent had a habit of visiting him after hours, thus far a tradition that Will Graham did not seem to mind.
"Am I interrupting your work?" the brunette asked at long last, a hand boldly moving to rest over his nearest arm - but with a touch light enough to prevent the book from falling shut. Melissa's smile resurfaced then, matched by a mischievous glint in her honeyed eyes, "Or do you need a break, professor?"
