Interesting hanging Ship's lantern which was used aboard USS Constitution, made in the Netherlands maybe 18th or early 19th century.
I suspect that this lantern was once the private property of an officer and hung in his cabin. Because this is not the classic simple ship's lantern design that was normally used.
