Shredvember recap--
I sadly did not take my measurements before starting the 30 Day Shred. My misplacement of my measuring tape saddens me. :( (actually, I'm pretty sure it's still at my parent's house) So, I am unsure as to how many inches I've lost this month. But I do know this...sometime in October I stepped on the scale of a friend's and it said something astronomical like 158, and then it was 156 the day after...that was my wake-up call.
I was 186 lbs and 19 years old when I began this journey. I was unhealthy and 'technically' obese since I'm a mere 5'2". I made a decision at that moment to change my life and get healthy. Fast forward now to spring of 2011...I finally had hit 140lbs (for about a week). From that point on, I tried to lose but was mostly maintaining and floating back up in weight. That brings us back to October where I had let myself gain back some weight from the summer and was at about 155/154 lbs, and upset with myself and my body. I jumped on the SHREDvember bandwagon, and today I'm 151 lbs. I'm very happy with that number, that number means my body still has fat to lose and I can do this. I know that 'being healthy' does not have a direct correlation with the number on the scale, but being happy with the number is a good thing. :)
I understand and accept this is a change that I will never be finished with. I have my good days, where I've had a clean diet and exercised. But I also will have days where I eat eat pizza, fries and don't exercise! Each of those things happen and I've learned to not be so hard on myself. As long as I don't allow myself to fall into my old habits I had when I was unhealthy I consider this journey to be a success. :D
Thank you to everyone who has inspired and motivated me! I love you all so much. Now...how was your November? Also...what are you doing for December?
