Marinette Dupain-Cheng is NOT in love (or whatever she says) | platonic AdriNette | Romantic (?) TimMari
Falling in love wasn't on Marinette's plans, really.
She just wanted to go around doing her thing, studying for her degree and keeping her secret safe.
Until Tim Drake happened.
He was a little menace, a personality so cryptid it got Marinette confused for a long time.
Wasn't he the only child of the Drake's? One of the richest medical families in the world? Heir of the Drake empire of medical equipment and pharmaceutical research worth billions of dollars?
Why was he being so nice to her? Why was he always on the right place at the wrong time?
Marinette had seen him get back at idiots faster than she could blink, and more than once she saw him render a guy helpless on the hallways after seeing him harass a younger student. Rumours said the assailant got beaten so hard he was sent to the hospital to reset his arm back in place, while Tim left unscathed.
Tim was an enigma, and Marinette wondered what his hobbies were and what kind of music he liked.
He was majoring in business, but she had heard someone say that this was his third degree already, that he was some kind of genius who had a Master's at 22.
What was his favorite color? Did he eat spicy food? Would he accept if she gifted him one of her personalized jade bracelets?
"Marinette? Are you listening?" Adrien asked, waving a hand in front of her face.
"Sorry, what?" she asked him back, finally moving her eyes from the figure across the room to her bestfriend.
"Wow, your down bad," Adrien joked. She elbowed his side as a small warning to shut up. He didn't comply. "I mean, he's totally my type, if you ask me. Tall, handsome, cryptid. Just like you when we were teenagers. Except for being tall," he teased. Marinette turned red, fighting her urge to strangle Adrien then and there.
"Shut up!" she hissed, getting the attention of half the class on them. Adrien had an arm around her shoulders, and she had instinctively leaned against his side.
"Make me," he joked again. Marinette's face was burning hot and she wanted to disappear. The moment she noticed that Tim was looking in their direction, she did the only thing her brain thought of.
She hid her face on Adrien's chest.
She could feel his laugh shaking them as he tightened his hold on her.
"Come on, princess. Look at me!" he shook her gently. Marinette didn't budge, too embarrassed to show her face. It took Adrien a couple of minutes of coaxing to get her to let go of his shirt.
"I hate you," she mumbled. Adrien fixed her bangs with a gentle smile, the one dared to directed only at her and to his boyfriend.
"You love me, and you know it," he teased, poking her nose.
Their short banter was interrupted by the loud sound of something heavy falling on the floor, making Marinette jump o n her seat.
When they looked around, Tim seemed to be fetching one of his books from the ground. The one thick enough to knock someone out if used as a weapon.
He looked as he had just been hurt by a thorn from a rose. Frustrated by the wound, but unwilling to let go.
"Sorry," he apologized, eyes hard in Marinette and Adrien's direction, as if sending a message. Marinette felt Adrien slide his arm over her shoulders again. She noticed Tim's grip on his book harden as he left the classroom.

Marinette took a breath of the sky’s air, her eyes slowly shutting. She allowed herself to relax and lied back. Tikki’s wings seemed to almost pound as she took them around the archipelago.
This section didn’t have much besides old storage and empty harbors. It had been so long since they had used these lands. Perhaps she should bring up at the next meeting to start moving some of their people back to this area. It was no good if it wasn’t upkept.
“Marin!”
Her mouth twitched up just before spreading into a smile. She brought herself back up with a stretch.
“What is it,” she called out, turning toward her friend. “Find anything interesting?”
On a Deadly Nadder her partner brought himself next to her. He shook his head, “Nah, haven’t found anything aside from vacancy.”
Marinette sighed. They’ll just need to reestablish their tribes in this area, they can’t risk it being taken.
“But,” he paused, waiting for her to give her attention back to him. He smiled at her as he petted Ghost, “I was thinking, let’s get some practice in?”
She grinned and shifted her position, “Now that’s something interesting.”
Duke shook his head, doing the same, “Oh dear.”
When their eyes met Duke couldn’t help but grin himself, “Alright, on three. One, T—“
Tikki shot down toward the island, no doubt by Marinette’s request. Duke gripped his saddle with a huff and urged Ghost to catch up.
With her head start Marinette weaved between all the streets, not that there were many. Tikki made sharp turns around the area before going to round the island.
Marinette turned back to see Duke far enough away to make her smug but close enough to almost make out his face. The Deadly Nadder’s pale scales reflecting the sunlight on his rider. If it weren’t for their race at hand she’d slow down to get a better view of her betrothed.
Marinette looked back at the route her friend was taking and glanced to her right, another island not too far. With her and Tikki dictating the race’s route she thought she’d have a bit more fun with it.
“Tikki eastward,” she called over the speed of her dragon.
Tikki let out an excited howl as she leaned into a spin toward the island. As they approached its outskirts Marinette called out again, “Through it.”
With her hands against the back of her neck she felt the vibrations from Tikki’s throat. Marinette giggled as her dragon zig zagged through the sparse woods. They did have to rise as it got thicker and it couldn’t allow for the dragon’s full being.
Marinette found herself with an idea, it was practice, might as well practice more than their flight maneuvers. She drummed her fingers in a pattern on Tikki’s neck.
She was quick to comply, pulling her wings in as she rolled in the sky forward. But when she went to change direction the wind caught her wings in a way she hadn’t anticipated.
The move caused the Stormcutter to lose her sense of balance and made her tumble through the air. Marinette’s harness came undone while her dragon struggled to get herself sorted, and launched the rider off.
Marinette barreled into a large patch of brush. The young woman cried out as she landed on her shoulder. She groaned as she brought herself up on her good arm, her breath labored in her ears. Her face and arms stung.
She looked around, the brush around her wasn’t not a pleasant sight aside from knowing that being so thick and tall had helped with her tumble. Marinette grunted as she brought herself up, the bushes scraping against her.
She glared at the thorns and pointy branches.
Marinette took a deep breath before bushing through the rather unpleasant brush.
She could hear Duke calling out for her, but she couldn’t quite make out what he was trying to say. Though she could take a gander.
“Over here, in the brush,” She called out. A few steps she was out, and scratched up. She looked around as large cedars surrounded her, old man’s beard hanging off the branches, and moss climbing over nearly every piece of wood.
”Marinette,” Duke called out, just as Tikki rushed up to her rider. Tikki circled the young woman, sniffing and eyeing her. She let out a low howling sound, a regretful sound.
“Oh my girl,” Marinette reached up with her right arm but winced and lowered it back down when she found she couldn’t bring it up to her dragon. She switched to her good arm and pet her, trying to reassure her, “I’m only a little banged up. It’s not your fault, I shouldn’t have had us do that one out of the training ring.”
Duke ran up behind her, “Marinette,” he took in her state and started assessing her injuries. “Can’t say you don’t know how to take a fall.”
Marinette raised her eyebrows at him, certainly not impressed. He only ignored her look as he continued, “I can get you cleaned up and we should be good to go.”
Duke guided her to sit down and motioned for Ghost to get closer, the dragon complied, laying down next to grant him access to the saddle’s pouches strapped to him. The rider did not waste a moment. Pulling out wrappings and vials and various medical items.
Marinette stopped watching, looking at her dragon who sat hunched behind Ghost. Her eyes were wide as her head hung low, and her wings were pulled in tightly. Marinette tried to smile at her,
“Tikki come here.”
Despite her sweet tone the dragon lowered herself to the ground watching as Duke cleaned up her good arm. Marinette forced herself to focus on breathing and her loyal friend. She’d really been just trying to ignore the thorns being pulled out.
“Oh Sweetie please,” Marinette tried again. “You didn’t mean to fling me off. Look, it's just some thorns, this is nothing.”
Tikki’s eyes looked up to her face, still not sure. Marinette nodded to come over, “Please. It’s not as bad as you think.”
The Stormcutter was slow to get us and round her fellow dragon. Her head tilted as she came closer, inspecting the state of Marinette’s arms. Red with irritation and streaked with pink lines. She couldn’t help the whine looking at the viking’s arms.
While Duke got started on the poor arm, Marinette brought her thornfree arm, giving a rubbed to the underside of her dragon’s head.
“See?” She cooed at her, “Not too bad. It’ll heal up girl.”
Marinette sucked in as Duke felt her upper arm.
“Sorry dear,” he winced with his words. He turned back the injury, “Looks like it’s starting to swell, we’ll have to get you back to the village as soon as I get the rest of your arm cleaned up.”
Marinette sighed, “Great.”
Duke shook his head, “Yes, it’s quite the tragedy.”
The young woman gave a mocking scoff and tightly held her lips together. She would not be laughing, thank you very much.
As she pet Tikki—who had relaxed, laying down and holding her head up to still be in reach for chin scratches—she looked back to Duke. The worry lines made her chest tighten and her stomach spin, the gentle pats with the cloth between pulling thorns and inspecting her arm were just everything .
She let her head tilt to the left as she watched him spend minutes with each section as he made his way up. Marinette’s face relaxed as his eyes seemed to trace every scratch. His fingers following the scars of closed wounds, he remembered everyone, including the ones that hadn’t left scars.
He found himself in a lull as he looked at the map of history that was her arm. How couldn’t he when it made his heart race and his throat tighten. It just never seemed to get easier.
Marinette leaned forward, gently using her free hand to guide Duke’s face up. She tilted her head down to catch his eye. Her smile was small but sweet in his eyes, a silent sigh came out between his lips as he looked at her.
Marinette leaned closer, closing the gap with a kiss. When she pulled away, Duke followed, making her laugh softly. She rested her forehead against his and pressed her lips together with giddy. Remembering a conversation from a few weeks ago.
“Why don’t we come here,” she asked, her voice clear in its low volume.
“What,” Duke laughed as he asked.
“I mean we wanted to have our own place,” she continued. She messed with the end of her skirt, “We like the area. I really don’t see any of the houses next to that old harbor to be anything we’d like, so why don’t build it.”
She pulled her face away, “Smaller than over there, close enough to get supplies by boat if we had to. Plenty of room for Tikki and Ghost, and even to build anything we want. This whole area could be ours.” She swallowed, her hand firmly shook his arm, “Don’t tell me you haven’t been having a hard time seeing us back in the village, so close to everyone? It’s been getting crowded. Why else would they send us all the way out here?
”It is a good area to reestablish, but right here,” her voice became soft, pleading. “I see us here.”
Duke sighed, he squeezed the hand he held before setting down the cleaning cloth to take the other. He brought her hand up, pressing a kiss.
”You’re right,” he laughed, shaking his head, “I don’t see us there. I’d love to build our life here,” he kissed her on the cheek, “wherever you want it to be.
”Though I’d like to finish getting you patched up,” he kissed her temple and returned to work. Marinette watched him with a big goofy smile.
That was what Marinette called the little creatures she told her brothers about.
Little mouse-like colored creatures that gave her super-powers and helped her fight crime.
Every day, she had new adventures to tell her family.
From giant ice cream monsters to puppeteers who controlled her friends only with words, Marinette always had amazing stories to tell.
And every night, either her father or one of her brothers cried themselves to sleep after hearing her tall tales.
"… And then we destroyed the akumatized glasses!" she told them over dinner. Jason and Duke were listening attentively, commenting here and there about how amazing her day had been. Bruce, on the other hand, gestured in Alfred's direction, despite being aware that their butler wouldn't allow it to pass.
"Miss Marinette, don't forget your jelly," Alfred moved two chewy medication capsules in the girl's direction.
Bruce's heart hurt by the scene, despite seeing it every night during dinner.
Damian and Tim had long stopped looking at the girl while she took the meds, and Jason had stopped coming altogether after he first saw it happening. She was just 12 at that time.
Childhood schizophrenia was rare, but not impossible. Marinette had been diagnosed for the first time when she was 11, living with her biological parents back in Paris.
The pressure of having a child with such a severe mental disorder was too much for the Dupain-Cheng's to bear, especially once the hallucinations started.
Marinette, who was always polite and gentle, started having trouble with focus and fighting with her classmates, telling the teachers that they were mocking her, that there were "voices" warning her that some of them were evil people.
When Bruce offered the poor couple to adopt Marinette, they hesitated for a moment before remembering that they couldn't care for her properly if they wanted to keep the bakery running as it was.
The deal was to allow them to contact Marinette whenever, and she could visit them when she wanted.
They wanted the best for her, and the random billionaire who offered to take care of her health as she grew seemed trustworthy enough.
He cleared his schedule whenever Marinette had something to show them, was the number one emergency contact at school, and always made sure her psychiatrist appointments were followed to the T.
"Dad, will you go to my school presentation?" she asked Bruce, eyes full of stars. She had told him once that he was her dad, and Mr. Dupain was her papa. She loved both equally and wanted both her families to be happy.
"Of course I will, princess," Bruce answered with a small smile. Dick, Duke and even Steph started talking over each other, praising Marinette's role on the school play and telling the girl how the couldn't wait to see her shine on the stage.
Damian gently pressed his younger sister's shoulder, trying to pass some encouragement. They were three years apart, and Damian had just started his first year of college, but he still tried to be present in his sister's life.
Bruce watched the talkative family around the dinner table, wishing life were as easy as it looked.

And fortunately for the girl, some people are way easier to get out of their fairytale than others!
Features: An irritated Damian with a frying pan, Titus in a cute costume, Tim sleeping, Jason being Jason(?), Bruce in a dress, and Dick needing a bigger fish bowl.

“Oh fair maiden, with hair so golden it’s akin to the sun, and skin so fair and soft it’s akin to silk on a snowy day, shall thee lower your hair so I may slip inside to save thee’s family?” Marinette was kneeled in front of the tower of the bright pink castle, wearing shaggy and torn clothes. Her hair, which was usually in pig tails, seemed to have been harshly cut short. She looked like a poor thief or treasure hunter, which at the moment, she supposedly was.
“And who seeks— ladybug. Of course it’s you.” A harsh voice spoke out before Marinette suddenly felt something a bit heavy hit her in the face. Looking up, she noticed it was an extremely large braid of golden hair. Smiling, she moved back and got the braid off of her, before grabbing onto it. “Stop acting like you’re Shakespeare and get the hell inside.”
Marinette didn’t bother to answer the maiden, who she could easily guess who it was from the rude tone alone, instead slowly climbing up the hair. She almost slipped a few times when her raggedy boots got stuck, but eventually made her way to the large-ish window.
“Why hello, Rapunzel, do you know where the rest of your family is, in this monster of a castle?” Marinette grinned, looking at Damian who was grimacing as he tugged his hair out of the window. He was in a beautiful purple gown, with Titus beside him in a lizard costume. Which seemed the closest they would get to a chameleon at this time.
Damian groaned after getting the last of his golden hair out of the window and onto the tower’s floor. He turned towards Marinette, glaring at her.
“No. It looks like I can’t leave through the simple door right there, for some stupid reason.” He pointed at a currently purple door, of which seemed to change color and shape every few seconds. He sighed as he looked at her again, frowning. “Who are you supposed to be? Flynn Rider with that huge nose?”
“How dare you— it’s normal! But it seems so, fair maiden, as I doubt any other would be able to use your hair to slip inside.” Marinette giggled as she subtly backed herself towards the door.
“Oh hell no, you aren’t leaving without me, Ladybug.” Damian grabbed a nearby— wait nearby? She hadn’t seen it— frying pan, before nodding at Titus. “Based on the tale, you and I should be escaping together, which I’m sure my brother would be sure to enforce. I’m not waiting here while you go seek glory, we are going together.”
Noticing the frying pan Damian raised into the air and remembering how Rapunzel the movie went, Marinette just nodded. She leaned over, grabbing his wrist before turning around to open the door.
“I don’t see why you have to hold my wrist while opening the door.” Damian attempted to pull his hand back.
“Well, my maiden, they escaped together, and Dick values sticking to the main plan, so we are escaping as close together as we can both manage when we both know we’d rather murder each other.” Marinette grinned before yanking the door open and stepping into the hall with a pouting Damian.
“Hey, move out of the way!” A lower voice screamed, running by them with a large stack of dishes. The man continued running before abruptly stopping and turning towards them. “Damian? Ladybug?”
“Yep!” Marinette grinned at Jason, who wore Cinderella’s dress like a glove(if it had any buttons, she was sure they would pop. Not that she cared). She let go of Damian's wrist, immensely happy when nothing happened to either of them after she let go. “Is the rest of your family nearby?”
“Uh, yeah. Bruce is in the library and Tim.. is in the room covered with thorns.” Jason raised his brow, as if to say ‘are you stupid? How don’t you know where they are?’. Marinette just continued to grin.
“And where are those rooms?” Damian interrupted, crossing his arms.
“Library is that way and Tim’s room is over there.” Jason pointed in two opposite directions, making them notice that the hallway wasn’t actually very long, and only had four other doors. One was beside Damian’s, likely Jason’s based on the slipper design on the door, while two others were at the ends of the hall. The final door was right across from them, covered in chains.
“Thank you, Jasonrella! Well come back for you soon, promise.” Marinette waved at him as Jason just blinked before nodding, running towards his door(which was in front of him, so he was running in place).
“Just be here before the prince finds me— I don’t want to know who has a foot fetish among our group of characters.” Jason quickly opened his door, barely keeping the dishes from falling as he entered, closing the door behind him.
“We should split up.” Damian turned towards Marinette. “It’s more efficient. I’ll go save father while you go get Tim.”
“You’re right, but we probably won’t be able to separate again after this. I haven’t read the actual fairytale, but I know from the movie that they don’t separate but like once.” Marinette scratched her cheek. “And I’d prefer not to get shocked, like I saw others who refused to follow their fairytales did.”
“…Fine.” Damian muttered before walking off to the large wooden door that was accented with gold. Marinette rolled her eyes at his back before walking to the other end of the hall, where thorns covered the door. Fortunately, the doorknob was free from the thorny vines.
Marinette took a deep breath in before grabbing the doorknob and swinging the door open. A white light covered her and a bit of the hall, leaking from the room. It was a bit blinding, but she only needed a couple moments for her eyes to adjust.
“Tim!” She shouted into the room, walking in before closing the door behind her. The room looked like a royal’s bedroom, with plenty of reds and pinks. She walked past the couch, looking around before noticing the bed, which had sheets covering all angles to avoid showing what was on it. Also noticing the spinning wheel in the corner, that meant—
Marinette rushed over and yanked a blanket down, letting herself see what the bed was hiding— a beautifully resting Tim, sleeping beauty. She muffled her giggle into her hand as she admired how soft his face looked and how at peace he seemed to be while sleeping.
“Oh beautiful maiden, cursed with such peace in sleep, I dare to interrupt your tale early, for only I can be your true love.” Marinette bent over, leaning down to lay a brief kiss onto Tim’s lips. After a moment, his eyes fluttered open.
“Good morning, sleepyhead.” Marinette cooed, sitting down on the bed beside him. She brushed a strand of her out of his face. “Did I wake you?”
“Mmm.” He flipped to his side, turning towards Marinette and snuggling into her hand. His face was soft, though a bit cold. He seemed to seek solace in the warmth of Marinette’s hand.
“We have to rescue Paris, Tim. So you can’t go back to sleep.” Marinette leaned back down to kiss his forehead, before resting her head on top of his.
“Mm.” He brought his hands around to hold Marinette’s closer, seemingly content to stay where he was.
“Oh god.” Marinette sat up, leaning back a bit and covering her face with her available hand. “You can’t be acting cute right now. It’s not allowed.”
Tim opened his eyes again, looking up at her with a pout as he tightened his hold on her hand, which was still on his cheek. Marinette looked down at him, flushing.
“Stop.”
Tim widened his eyes, pouting further as if he was a dog denied a treat.
“I said no— I said you can’t go back to sleep. We need to save Paris.”
Tim let go of her hand, only to barely sit up and lean up towards her. He grabbed her hand again, fluttering his eyelashes. “Not even for a few minutes?”
“No.” She disconnected from her body, cheeks fully flushed and emotions too high to be able to comprehend.
“Mari, please.” He reached over and grabbed her other hand, sitting up properly now as he brought them to his heart. “My girlfriend just woke me up with a kiss, and I can’t enjoy the moment a bit longer?”
“Tim— oh god.” She looked down, tears in her eyes. “My heart is going to explode if you keep doing that. Just let us save Paris and we can cuddle all you want. I’ll give you so many little kisses. Just please, my heart can’t handle any more.”
Tim grinned, letting go of her as he slipped out of the blankets. He leaned up, kissing her forehead. “Promise?”
“Promise.” She short-circuited, steam basically going out of her ears. Which it did, as she was currently in a fairytale. She remained sitting on the bed with a blank look as Tim got up and found some shoes— as he didn’t sleep with shoes on the bed like a heathen. At that moment, there was a lightness in the air.
Which didn’t last long, because Tim is apart of the bat family.
“Tim, Ladybug.” The door opened to reveal a muscled up Bruce in a large yellow dress— Belle’s dress from the ball. Catwoman snuck up from behind, in a blue suit and a headband that had horns. She also had the tip of her nose painted black like a feline.
Titus, of course, ran out from behind them, still in the lizard ‘chameleon’ suit. He pounced onto the bed, laying his head onto Marinette’s lap.
“Titus!” Damian bypassed Bruce to rush over to his dog, glaring at Marinette. When he came close enough near her, chains appeared on one of each of their wrists, binding the two people together.
“Out of the way!” Dishes clattered to the ground as Jason bumped into Bruce’s back. A laugh of course followed when Bruce turned towards him.
Tim and Marinette sighed at the same time, before everyone finally gathered at the center of the room. Everyone went quiet as they took a moment to look at each other without laughing their asses off, noticing Dick wasn’t there with them. They had to go save him from his own undoing— and the rest of Paris from his akuma curse.
“Let’s save Dick.” Marinette spoke out, looking at everyone. “Jason, have you seen him?”
“Of course, I serve his meals and do his cleaning?” He said it like it was obvious.
“Meaning it wouldn’t be suspicious if you entered his room with a large cart of ‘food’?” Marinette grinned like she knew something they all didn’t.
“Yeah? Oh, you want me to sneak everyone in on a cart?”
“Everyone that you think you can fit in there. We can’t make it too obvious. After you sneak us in, we can surprise Dick and break his akumatised object. My yo-yo is in my bag so I'll still be able to purify it. Is everyone fine with that?”
“Your plan is terrible, but I don’t think we have any choice but to go along with it, do we?” Damian grimaced, as he does with everything.
“Nope! Now come on, we got a man to save!” Marinette yanked the chain to force Damian to follow her before grabbing Tim’s hand and holding it.
“I can probably fit the three of you…” Jason muttered, leading them out to the hallway, where his service cart, which was absurdly huge, was waiting.
“Me, Damian, and Tim then?” Marinette squatted down, looking at the cart with squinting eyes. Jason nodded back before the three forced their way into the cart, all squished together.
“Good luck.” Bruce held the cloth flap that would hide them, kneeling in the bright yellow dress as he looked at them all.
Marinette just winked and gave him thumbs up before he let go of the flap and they were submerged in darkness.
“Tim, get your knee off my back.” Damian mumbled as he heard—felt— the cart start to push forward.
“Not mine.” Tim swatted at the hand that was on his chest— which was too big to Marinette’s.
“My bad, Damian.” Marinette adjusted a bit, her knee now stabbing into his shoulder.
“That’s worse, you imbecile." He whispered-shouted. “Tim you could have just asked me to move my hand instead of hitting it like a caveman.”
“Shut up.” Marinette interrupted Damon’s rant as she heard the door open. They all went silent, softening their breathing. They listened closely as they heard humming, likely Jason, and the swishing of water. They had completely forgotten to ask Jason which fairytale character Dick was.
“Oh Dickriel, I have your food.” Jason stopped the cart in front of something, plates clinking onto what they hoped to be a nearby table.
“Oh Jasonrella, thank you! But Jasonrella, what is the world out there like?” A sweet sing-songy voice could be heard.
“The same as usual— nothing good and shit work treatment.”
“Oh my, Jasonrella, I wonder how true that all is. I wish to go out there, on legs one day, you see!”
“Mhm.” Jason nodded, before kicking the cart a bit, signaling for them to get out.
“Sorry, Dickriel! But you’ll have to go out there as Richard Grayson!” Marinette genuinely didn’t not know what she was saying as she emerged from the cart with a leap, taking a stumbling Damian with her.
“How did you all-?” Dick gasped, eyes wide. He was in a large tank with a single rubber duck as company. A food tray was placed over a portion of the tank to hold his food— a bat shaped burger. “No matter! The fairytales must go on! This is not how you all’s stories go!”
“Guess I’m an author, since I’ll be rewriting this story!” Marinette jumped into the tank with Damian and Tim, who was just standing beside her before.
The three attempted to grab the mermaid but Dick evaded them every time.
“It’s too late! You’ll never find my object!!” Dick yelled, before Jason’s hands yanked him to one of the sides of the glass tank, holding him there.
“..well? Is anyone going to get him? I said I didn’t want to meet anyone with a foot fetish that would be my prince and I meant it.” Jason raised his eyebrow as he waited for the three.
Damian and Marinette searched him, ultimately finding nothing until they turned around to see the rubber ducky again, which had a familiar pirate hat on it— it was the rubber duck Duck had gotten from his daughter a couple years ago.
“Get that duck!” Marinette shot forward, but Damian had been standing still, so they both ended up falling over and getting covered in more water.
Tim chuckled as he grabbed the rubber duck, holding it out to Marinette when she emerged from the water.
“You wench! How dare you—“
“Damian shut up, this was your fault!”
“It was MY fault? How dare—“
Dick cleared his throat.
“You heroes have defeated me, so please take my dearest treasure and end this battle. It hurts my dear heart to see you both fight amongst yourselves.”
“We weren’t— well, okay then.” Marinette looked at Tim who was holding out the duck for her, before yelling, “lucky charm!”
A small knife appeared in her hands, after she grabbed her yoyo from her bag. After a moment, she cut a small hole into the duck, watch the purple butterfly appear from it. She immediately snatched it with her yoyo.
“No more evil doing for you akuma! Miraculous ladybug!” She threw the knife into the air as she purified the butterfly, watching as a swarm of white ladybugs surrounded them.
As they all closed their eyes, they found themselves back in Marinette’s apartment, a game of monopoly on the table nearby.
Tim slipped behind her, hugging her from the back and giving her a kiss to the side of the head. “My hero.”
Marinette giggled as they all began laughing from the absurdity of it all.
Light came in from a nearby window, highlighting the scene in items glow. A large family all gathered together, making fun of each other for their fairytale forms. It was a sweet moment, as Titus curled himself around a standing Marinette’s feet.
The door opened after a moment, “oh my dear Cinderella! I lost your slipper but I know no one else has as monster-like feet as you, Jason!”
Roy blinked before looking down to see he wasn’t in prince clothing anymore.
“I do not have a foot fetish, by the way.”
“Oh my god!”
